Quite often your local caravan shop will have an assortment of odd poles available that would be suitable, worth checking out.
We bought a 2-piece aluminium pole meant for aerials, but there are plenty available cheaper.

Hi, Scaffolding poles to hold an ariel up is like using a sledgehammer to crack a nut!!!!. Using the jockey wheel clamp is a popular idea and you only need a very lightweight aluminium pole such as a modified washing line post or similar to hold it for you.

we got ours from a television shop with the aerial.
you can also buy the the fitting/brackett that goes onto the a frame that your jockey wheel is on.

we made one from alu awning poles.we bought some odd ones from a dealer.they usually have a few about that you can buy.
if its very windy my hubby attaches a guy rope --just in case.dont fancy an aerial shaped hole in the caravan roof!!!
