Found this on another forum - Anybody fancy taking them up on the offer ?
i wonder if you might be able to help me.
I work for a production company and at the moment we are making a film for BBC3 current affairs.
We are looking for an older style (70's or 80's) caravan with an owner/driver and vehicle who might fancy being involved in some filming that we would like to do directly after the holiday period. We are looking to use the caravan as a mobile set. We would need to dress it with some items on the wall in the interior and put some temporary signage on it which would be removable without damage to the caravan.
We're looking at a period of time which includes Monday 3rd Jan through to and including Monday 10th Jan. 3rd through to 7th Jan would be in and around London with a small film crew and the weekend of the 8th/9th would see the caravan being driven to Bristol to be prepared for a full day¹s filming on Monday 10th.
We have a modest budget to offer.
Do you happen to know if this is the type of thing that would appeal to anyone your company is in contact with who are based in and around London or Bristol?
My sons ex-girlfriends parents were approached by a production team last year, wanting to purchase their 1967 Sprite for a program. They offered about £500 but even though they had only paid £80 for it the year before, declined the offer because they thought it a shame for the classic van to be `butchered` (to get the internal camera angles) But they did point the team in the direction of a similarly aged but tattier caravan belonging to Granma that was no longer used (think they paid around £250 for it)
It was used in a program called.......... A THING CALLED LOVE starring PAUL NICHOLS
