I logged in on Saturday morning about 9.30am. I couldn't do anything as I kept getting server errors. Within the hour the website had closed for "Essential Maintenance" That later changed to "We're sorry, we are experiencing technical issues" If its not up by 10.00pm tonight it will have been down 60 hours which is pretty incredible? It is clearly very embarrassing for such a large organisation to have such woeful IT. I suppose it could be something outside their control and I hope they will give a full explanation to the members, although I am not sure if that will happen beyond an apology?
Yes, still down, I've never known any website to be down for 3 days. I wondered if it's been hacked. Also wondered what about people arriving on sites? Ok, there won't be many travelling at the moment, but there will be some. Whatever the problem, it must be a real headache for the poor wardens in particular.
We did get a marketing email though on Saturday, timed 12.17, which I thought odd at the time, as the website had been down for a couple of hours by then.
I was looking for site availability last week, and it was showing as full for the whole season! The site map page also kept going off and I was repeatedly prompted to reload or try again later, due to extremely heavy traffic. This happened several days on the run, so I gave up!
Looking to do some trip planning, and CAMC still down it seems! - ABSOLUTELY dead, I don't even get a 'Site down for maintenance' type holding page, browsers, yes I've tried more than one, just time out with server unreachable error message!
I wonder if it's the dreadful 'new' website software that's fallen over! Had a chat with an 'insider' from CAMC last year, apparently it was a 'brought in' software package intended for travel/hotel type bookings, rather than a custom CAMC job or for campsites, which explained why it was so clunky and didn't seem to fit the use particularly well. Considering how truly awful it was on launch, and how long it took them to tweak some (and still only 'some'!) of the gremlins out of it, that may explain why it's been down for so long! Straight forward server issues are normally much quicker to rectify, and if some are getting 'holding pages', then the network doesn't appear to be the problem.

There was some talk about that on their forum, hence the request for DOB for everyone, even when booking a UK site, in the months after the "new" website launched. Apparently that was sorted out after a while, but it's still one of the slowest websites I've encountered, with "Internal Server Errors" galore all the time on their forum.
Just had a text on my mobile phone from CAMC announcing they are having 'technical issues' and if I need to make an insurance claim (Van is insured with them), to call the included phone number.
Their 'insurance' is unlike most insurance in as much as it's a fully in house scheme, as opposed to the more typical of them being agents for an underwriter. Guess they have some very serious problems if things have extended as far as affecting the insurance side of things as well!
Now beginning to think along lines of them being hacked, either ransom demand to re-enable their computer systems, or they've isolated their systems from the outside world to prevent further intrusion and maybe data theft.
Speculation does little more than entertain my over active mind, but relieves the otherwise humdrum of a wet and windy unpleasant day - especially as I can't plan my trips if they involve a CAMC campsite!
We are insured with CAMC but received no email. You can of course book sites on here. I am trying to get inspiration for our next trip so it's very frustrating that the website is down.

Maybe time to try some of those "cheap commercial sites" Mrs B.
We have house insurance through them, I have had a couple of e mails, but they it's Devitt Insurance.
Our caravan is also insured with them. It's tucked away indoors in storage at the moment.

Don't forget their email system is also down. There have been comments by the Club on Trustpilot and in one they did say that members details are not at risk so from that we, suppose, can conclude it is an internal problem?
