Resident Warden & Maintenance - Live-in

Vacancy: Resident Warden & Maintenance - Live-in
Employer's Name: White House HideawayLocation: Herefordshire

We`re looking for a reliable, practical person (or potentially a couple) to join our small team at White House Hideaway, near Ross-on-Wye in Herefordshire.

This is a little different from a traditional full-time campsite warden role.

The most important thing we need is a dependable person living on site who can provide first-response cover if one of our guests needs help. In return, we provide accommodation on the farm.

There is paid work in maintenance (5+ hours a week) and optionally in housekeeping.

Accommodation

We can provide a private static caravan on the farm with utilities and WiFi included.

Alternatively, if you have your own motorhome or caravan, we can provide a pitch with electric hook-up.

Paid work

Alongside the accommodation/on-call arrangement, we`re looking for somebody reasonably handy who can help with general maintenance around the cabins and glamping site.

There would typically be around 5 hours of paid maintenance work per week at £13/hour, with additional hours often available depending on what needs doing and your skills.

Typical jobs might include basic repairs and DIY, painting, preventative maintenance, cabin and hot-tub checks, grounds work and helping with improvement projects.

There is also additional paid housekeeping/changeover work available if you would like more hours.

This is deliberately not a full-time role. It could be a great fit for somebody semi-retired, self-employed, working remotely, already working locally, or simply looking for a long-term base with low living costs and flexible work alongside it.

Who we`re looking for

More than anything, we want someone reliable, calm and practical.

You don`t need to be a qualified tradesperson or have previous campsite experience. We`d much rather have someone dependable with common sense who is happy to have a look at a problem and work out the sensible next step.

You should be comfortable dealing with guests, working independently and carrying out reasonably physical/practical jobs when required.

A driving licence and your own transport are strongly preferred due to our rural location.

We`re happy to hear from individuals or couples. If applying as a couple, there may be additional paid work available for both depending on skills and availability.

About us

White House Hideaway is a small, family-run glamping business on a beautiful farm in the Herefordshire countryside, close to Ross-on-Wye and the River Wye.

We have a collection of individually designed couples` cabins alongside our seasonal tipi site, and we`re continuing to grow.

We`re a small team and the working environment is informal. We give people plenty of independence and trust them to take ownership of what they do.

For the right person, we`d love this to become a stable, long-term arrangement.

Immediate start available.

If interested, please send us a little about yourself, your experience/current situation, when you could start, whether you`d need our accommodation or have your own caravan/motorhome, and what sort of arrangement you`re looking for.
