Hendre Hall is seeking a skilled, passionate, and reliable Head Chef to lead our kitchen operations in beautiful Llwyngwril, Snowdonia.
Our restaurant and coffee shop cater to campsite guests, locals, and visitors exploring Snowdonia. This unique role offers a great work-life balance—working 4 days a week (Thursday through Sunday) with 3 consecutive days off (Monday to Wednesday), combined with free live-in accommodation on-site or free pitch for your vehicle
Key Responsibilities
Kitchen Management: Take full ownership of the day-to-day kitchen operations across our restaurant and coffee shop.
Menu Planning & Preparation: Develop and prepare fresh, high-quality meals, seasonal specials, and cafe/restaurant favorites.
Stock & Cost Control: Manage food inventory, ordering, stock rotation, waste control, and gross profit margins.
Food Safety & Hygiene: Ensure strict compliance with food safety regulations, HACCP standards, allergen controls, and kitchen cleanliness.
Team Supervision: Direct and mentor kitchen assistants and front-of-house staff to ensure smooth service and timely preparation.
Key Requirements
Experience: Proven experience as a Head Chef, Sous Chef, or Senior Kitchen Leader in a busy restaurant, pub, or café environment.
Certifications: Valid Food Hygiene Certification (Level 2 or Level 3 preferred).
Skills: Strong organizational skills, passion for quality cooking, and the ability to thrive during peak service times.
Reliability: Responsible, independent, and ready for an immediate start.
