| Employer's Name: Trossachs Holiday Park | Location: Perthshire |
About the roles
Horizon Holiday Parks is looking for a live-in warden couple to join the team at Trossachs Holiday Park, Gartmore, near Stirling. Both positions are full time: one covers grounds maintenance across the park, the other covers cleaning of the holiday lettings and park facilities.
Trossachs is a quiet, well-kept park on the edge of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs National Park, with holiday home owners, lettings guests and a small on-site team. The couple will live on the park and be a familiar, trusted presence for owners and guests throughout the year.
Role 1: Grounds Maintenance Warden
You keep the park looking its best all year round. Working with the Head Groundsman, you look after the grounds, roads, plots and shared areas so that owners and guests arrive to a park that is tidy, safe and welcoming.
Main duties
• Grass cutting, strimming, hedge trimming and edging across the park, including owner plots where this forms part of the service
• Planting, weeding, mulching and seasonal bedding in communal borders and around the entrance and reception
• Litter picking, emptying bins and keeping roads, paths and verges clear
• Leaf clearance in autumn; gritting and snow clearance on roads and paths in winter
• Preparing bases and plots for new caravans and lodges, including levelling, fencing and finishing off after siting
• Basic repairs to decking, fencing, signage, benches and picnic areas
• Checking and maintaining drainage, gullies and water courses
• Routine checks of play areas and reporting anything unsafe
• Helping with caravan moves, deliveries and siting days when extra hands are needed
Role 2: Cleaning Warden
You make sure every guest walks into a spotless holiday home. Working with the Park Co-Ordinator, you clean and prepare the lettings fleet on changeover days and keep the park`s shared facilities clean, stocked and presentable through the week.
Main duties
• Full changeover cleans of holiday lettings caravans and lodges to Horizon`s cleaning checklist: kitchens, bathrooms, bedrooms, living areas, decking and hot tubs where fitted
• Making up beds, laying out welcome packs and checking every unit is ready before guests arrive
• Stripping, laundering, drying and folding linen and towels, and keeping the laundry stock counted and in good order
• Deep cleans of lettings units between seasons and after long stays
• Cleaning the reception, toilet and shower block, bin stores and any other communal buildings on a daily rota
• Checking units for damage, missing items or maintenance faults during cleans and reporting them the same day
• Restocking cleaning materials, toiletries and consumables, and keeping an eye on stock levels
• Completing the daily cleaning and laundry checklists and filing them so the weekly report to head office is accurate
• Helping guests with questions at check-in and check-out when the office is busy
• Following COSHH guidance for all cleaning products and keeping the cleaning store tidy and safe
Shared responsibilities
As a live-in couple you are the park`s eyes and ears outside office hours. Between you, you will:
• Carry out an evening walk-round of the park, checking gates, lighting and shared buildings, and locking up
• Be the first point of contact for owners and guests with an out-of-hours problem, such as a gas or water issue, a lost key or noise, and know when to call the Park Co-Ordinator or an emergency contractor
• Meet and greet late arrivals and point guests in the right direction
• Keep a friendly, professional manner with owners, guests and contractors at all times
• Follow Horizon`s health and safety policy, report accidents and near misses, and take part in any training provided
• Cover for each other`s basic tasks when one of you is off, so the park is always presentable
• Help at park events such as Trossachs Fest with set-up, tidy-up and car parking
• Look after your pitch or warden accommodation and its surroundings to the same standard as the rest of the park
