Le Chant d`Oiseau is a small family run campsite in the heart of the Loire Valley, we have 10 spacious pitches, all with 6-amp EHU. The pitches are spread around the edge of a field of almost two acres, which is mainly laid to grass, with shade from the sun from over 30 mature trees and shrubs. The lovely shower block has been fully refurbished & redecorated and is full of charm & character, with plenty of free hot water and facilities for wheelchair disabled.
There`s a lovely wooden play area in the centre of the site, adjacent to the communal BBQ and firepit - great for toasting your socks as well as marshmallows!
Our `Kamper`s Kitchen` houses a fully fitted kitchen! There are fridges, a full gas oven & hob, kettle and microwave, as well as washing up sinks and hot water.
In 2014 we rebuilt our old barn from the ruins to a beautiful, traditional wooden beamed structure, which now houses our bar, TV, ping-pong table, babyfoot and much more. It`s here where we serve our twice-weekly (Mondays & Fridays) home-cooked meals, bar snacks in the afternoons, pizzas fresh from our bread oven each Wednesday evening and fouee - a local delicacy, each Sunday afternoon.
Each morning when there`s demand, we`ll have the daily bread and patisserie delivery from our local boulangerie.
We installed a new, covered and heated swimming pool. At 10m x 5m, its plenty big enough for the pre-croissant swim in the morning for adults, and great to play in with the kids after a hard day`s sightseeing! The pool cover rolls off when the sun`s out, and back when it`s not, meaning you can enjoy a dip whatever the weather!
Alongside the new swimming pool, we`ve built a purpose built boules pitch too. Why not challenge new found friends on site to a friendly game or two?
Between the new swimming pool and the boules pitch, there`s a lovely wooden pergola. It`s great for shade after a swim, or even better dressed up for a wedding! We`ve gained considerable experience at hosting weddings, birthday parties and even christenings over the past few years. Why not give us a call to discuss your special day? We can arrange everything from food to music, to venues to a traditional 2CV for your wedding car!
We also have three gorgeous gites for hire, (two of which are wheelchair-friendly). Which, together with the campsite, means we`re great for multi-generational family & friends holidays!

From Saumur-take the route du Mans out of the town, heading north. Follow signs to Vernantes/Noyant/Le Lude. In Vernantes, follow the D58 signed for Mouliherne. After approx. 5km, at the crossroads just after the Chateau du Loroux, and directly opposite `Plaisance`, take the right hand lane. (Signposted). Follow for approx. 1km, and you`ll see Le Chant d`Oiseau is on your right. Coming from Mouliherne, take the D58 to Vernantes. At again, approx. 5km, at the `Croix du Justicion`, (where there`s a ramshackle bust stop) turn left. (Signposted from here). Follow the road, taking your first right. Past the farms and Le Chant is on your left! See you there!
