La Clairiere du Verbamont is a peaceful, family-run campsite set in a beautiful forest clearing in the Vosges mountains of eastern France. If you are looking for a genuine, back-to-nature camping experience — with space, simplicity and a warm welcome — this is the place.
This is not a large commercial site. There are no crowded rows of pitches or noisy entertainment. Instead, you will find generous grassy pitches surrounded by woodland, birdsong in the morning and wonderfully dark skies at night. Campers, campervans and small motorhomes are welcome.
One of the features our British guests particularly appreciate is that campfires are allowed (in designated areas and subject to weather conditions). There is nothing quite like sitting around a real fire under the stars, toasting marshmallows, sharing stories or enjoying a quiet drink after a day outdoors. The atmosphere is relaxed, friendly and refreshingly unhurried.
The campsite is small enough to feel personal, yet spacious enough to ensure privacy. Children can explore safely, and adults can truly switch off. Many guests tell us they come for a short stay and end up wishing they had booked longer.
# Table d`Hote Evenings
On selected evenings, guests can join our table d`hote meals. These shared dinners are a wonderful way to experience French hospitality: generous, home-cooked food made with seasonal ingredients, often sourced directly from our garden. Everyone gathers around one large table, creating a convivial and welcoming atmosphere. It`s a simple pleasure that often becomes a highlight of the stay.
# Permaculture Garden & Sustainable Living
Sustainability is at the heart of La Clairiere du Verbamont. We cultivate a permaculture garden, growing vegetables and herbs in harmony with nature. Guests are welcome to discover the garden and learn about our approach. Our aim is to encourage thoughtful travel — respecting the land, reducing waste and living more consciously.
