Description

This is a Camping and Caravanning Club Certificated Site, which accept caravans or motorhomes and usually tents. This is a club member only site - you can usually join on site

Pitches: 5 Vans + 12 tents

Our spacious and secluded camp site is surrounded by natural beech woodland in the Cotswold Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It is extremely quiet, away from any residential or commercial properties. As soon as you arrive you know you are in the heart of the countryside, yet there is easy access from the M5 and M4.

The well-sheltered site is made up of level and gently sloping park land, surrounded by natural woodland. Totalling over 50 acres, there is plenty of space for all the family to relax and for the children to roam free.

Our all-grass pitches are suitable for caravans, motorhomes, trailer tents and tents. Note - we do not provide electrical hookup.

Facilities

Modern fitted shower block with the very latest Franke shower system.
Communal room with wood-burning stove, under-floor heating and somewhere to charge your phone.
Washing up facilities and chemical toilet disposal point.
Fire pits and logs are available.
Family dogs are welcome.
Shepherds Hut available for a more luxurious stay.

The site has been off-grid, generating its own power from a solar array since 2014.

Pubs

The New Inn, Waterley Bottom (Only 400m down a rough track) - One of the hidden gems of the Cotswolds - Famous for its ales, ciders and food. Don`t forget your torch for the walk back up the hill!

The Old Spot Inn, Dursley (1 mile) - A CAMRA National Pub of the Year, so you know there will always be a good choice of great beers. Buzzing with a friendly crowd of locals every night of the week.

For horse riders:

Large safe paddock for individual turnout with natural shelter and water.
Space for horsebox storage and easy turning.

We`re on the edge of the Cotswold escarpment, above the Historic Market town of Dursley to the North, Wotton-Under-Edge to the South, Tetbury and
Cirencester to the East, Stinchcombe Hill and Golf Course to the West with panoramic views overlooking the Severn Estuary towards the Black Mountains/ Brecon Beacons and the two Severn Bridges.

If you are looking for a quiet retreat, to enjoy beautiful Woodland Walks or cycle rides on the Cotswold Way or just a tranquil environment or you may like the thought of a quiet retreat, but within easy reach of Stroud, Tetbury, Gloucester, Bristol, Bath, Cheltenham, and Cirencester.

Nearby Attractions

Within walking distance of the historic town of Dursley for great food and drink, Twinberrow Woods (Dursley Sculpture Trail) and Breakheart Quarry.

Dursley Sculpture and Play Trail - Directly opposite the site entrance. The mosaics, sculptures and structures add extra interest to a family walk.

Breakheart Quarry - Only 500m along the road (or footpath). This community project provides a wonderful area for active play, and extensive paths through the varied 50 acre site. There is an amazing variety of plants, birds and fossils

The Cotswolds is one of the most beautiful areas of the English countryside. We are surrounded by gentle rolling hills, pretty villages and hidden valleys. You will find interest wherever you explore, but here are a few ideas.

Local places of historical interest are Tyndale Monument, Berkeley Castle, Uley Bury Iron Age Fort, Hetty Peglars Tump, Woodchester Mansion, to name just a few.

Slimbridge Wildfowl Trust and Cattle Country Adventure Park are only a short journey away.

Mountain Biking - There is some great riding right from the camp site. Stay on the flat top towards Stinchcombe Hill for some trails through the woods, or seek out the technical descents and steep climbs for more of a challenge.

See you soon!
