Small, peaceful site on a rural Pembrokeshire smallholding
Within a half-hour drive of beaches, Cardigan and Folly Farm
Barbecues and firepits welcome; pub 10 minutes` walk away
If you`re planning to explore as much of Pembrokeshire as you possibly can, you`ll be in prime position when you stay at Maengwyn Hir Campsite. Our small site is part of a rural smallholding near the hamlet of Llanfyrnach, and that location places it pretty much right in the centre of the county.
The setting itself is peaceful, with lovely views of the Preseli Hills and plenty of space from which to take them in (including a picnic area by a pond).
The rural location means lots of great walks nearby too, many of the trails will take you past the local pub (10 minutes` walk away) for a well-earned pint to reward your efforts.
The site is a laidback setup that welcomes dogs, families, groups and allows campfires and barbecues.
A chemical disposal point and toilet block are among the handy facilities provided.
Nearby Attractions
Although this is a quiet location, there`s plenty of action around if you want it.
For starters, you`ll be able to check out great swathes of West Wales coastline, whether you head north (to Cardigan and Aberporth), west (to St Davids and Newgale) or south (to Tenby and Pendine).
Family outings to places like Dyfed Shire Horse Farm, Folly Farm Adventure Park and Zoo and Heatherton World of Activities are within easy reach too, while scenery seekers can head to places like Cenarth Falls and Pentre Ifan Burial Chamber.
Make your way to the coast for seaside sessions at Pendine Sands beach (half an hour) for a splendid seven miles of beach. Or head to Tenby beach (40 minutes) and take a boat ride out to Caldey Island to see the seals while you`re there.
