 We absolutely love this site. There is plenty of space for each pitch, we have, at various times, had an awning and a 12ft Coleman shelter without impeding on any one else's space.
The owners are so friendly and accommodating and whilst the hook up points are well spaced out they will offer extension cables if needed.
As for facilities, there is a unisex toilet block with two cubicles and a shower as well as wash hand basins that can be used for washing up. We tend to use our own facilities but have never had an issue with the shower, it costs £1 for about 6 minutes and we put a sign on the drinking water tap outside to say we are in the shower asking for people not to use the tap.
The setting is beautiful and if you are on foot the walk along the towpath into Ellesmere is perfect.
The Elsan point is under cover and easy to use.
This is not an all singing and all dancing type of site, it has good basic facilities that are kept clean and well maintained.
We love it!

Great location but facilities lacking.
Would give this 10/10 if it weren't for the lack of facilities.
Location is right next to the canal & fab walks in the area to be had. Lots to be seen either walking, cycling or driving.
Site owners were very pleasant & stayed at a comfortable distance - I wouldn't hesitate in approaching them for any issues.
There was one temperamental shower and only one toilet working. No sink in a w. C. - which women may find tricky. The freezer is a useful addition. No fridge.
Site is ideal but may be preferable to camper vans over tents due to the facilities.

We have been here a lot over the years as it's so quiet and close to canal and Colemere.
Debbie has always made us extremely welcome and even though the weather was so bad this week its still a relaxing break,

A lovely quiet site with plenty of room which I liked. The owners are a lovely friendly couple and very approachable.
The facilities are a bit basic but manageable and clean.
Right by the canal with some lovely walks.
The owners provided a map which was very helpful.
Great value for money.

Lovely site with a very friendly owner. So nice to be able to sit and watch the canal boats go by!
The facilities are basic and unisex, kept very clean.
There seemed to be an issue with the shower when I was there so I ended up with a cold shower, very refreshing!
Would still go back it was such a nice atmosphere, so quiet, and a lovely area.

Lovely well maintained site in peaceful location. Great spacing between pitches so lots of privacy.
Nice welcome from owner with lots of information and map.

Great site adjacent to canal with masses of space for each unit.
Area is amazing for cycling with miles of quiet lanes and nice places for a coffee or lunch.
Facilities are basic with no hot water except in (chargeable) showers so might be difficult if camping.

Ideal for self contained units, ie caravan or motor home. Single shower £1/ 6mins absolutely shocking either boiling or freezing but when steady water is lukewarm ( we did follow the instructions about the knobs!) v poor water flow. 2 unsex toilets. No hot water. Tiny hand basin plus 1 washing up sink no hot water.
I’d love to give higher rating as everything else was just wonderful
Nature lovers paradise, bird watchers, photography, artists, walkers & cyclists haven. Very friendly and extremely knowledgeable owners. Spacious and peaceful site with ehu if required.
Access to towpath just a short stroll down lane. Fresh eggs by the canal bridge.
Walk from the site to Colemere lake using tow path. Nice level walk. You can even get to Colemere Vineyard by foot if you follow the lake walk.
Fabulous meadows on the site, sit and chill watching the canal boats and ducks.
Short drive to Sun Inn for good food, Ellesmere also short drive for those essentials.
We both like a nice hot shower in a morning, for me it needs to be without worrying if I have time to wash out shampoos & conditioner. (£5. 40/session each ave) For us we felt the shower/ washing facilities really lets the site down.

Lovely peaceful site by the canal.
Friendly owner, cleans loos and shower.
Ideal for people who like a small quiet site.
Maybe not ideal for small children due to proximity of canal, but very nice for getting away from it all.
I'll be back!

Ty Mawr is a beautiful location. Peaceful & idyllic, it’s perfect for relaxing & watching the canal boats pass by at the end of the field.
There are some lovely walks from the site including the stunning circular walk around Colemere.
The market town of Ellesmere is a gentle hours walk along the canal.
The owner Debbie is friendly & approachable and the facilities are kept spotlessly clean.
A perfect spot for a return visit!
