 What a gem of a campsite! Welcomed on arrival by Nicki, she zooms about on a golf buggy and was very welcoming.
Lovely pitch backing onto the wood, which meant it was handy to walk the dog through. Children will love spotting the (stone) animals on the ground, both in the wood and dotted round the site.
Toilet block finished last year is beautiful, lovely showers, and the flowers and shrubs round the site show what hard work they do.
Whatever you do follow their instructions for finding the site as you will end up in lanes if you follow a satnav.

Great site very clean with good security.
Gary made us feel very welcome.
New toilet/shower block was a dream.
Nice woodland area for young children to explore.
I will be going back next season and would recommend it to everyone

About the friendliest camping site you'll ever come across.
Level pitches, beautiful location, relaxed and peaceful, a bit quirky in a good way.
New toilet block ready in 6 weeks, but adequate and clean facilities during stay.
Will definitely return and we don't often do that.

Lovely location and well kept site. Very friendly and helpful owners who keep the facilities very clean and tidy.
We stopped off for the night when collecting our Campervan to take home. We were able to borrow an EHU cable from the site, as we did not have one with us.
Very reasonable rates and a very warm welcome.
New toilet and shower block nearing completion, so temporary toilets and showers at the moment but very clean and looked after.

Beautiful site and location
Excellent facilities

Bus into Shrewsbury every couple of hours

Had a lovely weekend at By the Wood campsite.
Hospitality was 10/10 from friendly owners and attention to detail on the site was impressive including a small woodland walk.
Good clean showers and toilets.
2 relatively local pubs and good for walks.
We would definitely go back.

You will not find a better camp site friendly, clean. And peaceful what more do you need.
Most relaxing holiday we have had for a long time.
I would give 100% 10 out of 10 is not enough
And my dog loved it. You have to be happy if your dogs happy.

This is a lovely site, peaceful and quiet. The owners are lovely.
Facilities are basic, 2 x toilets & 2 x showers.
It would help to have a couple of dog poo bins somewhere on site as the walk through the wood is delightful

Lovely site, quiet and tranquil,
The owners were very friendly and helpful,
The woods was great for the early morning dog walk before setting out for the day
Facilities were clean and well maintained. On the second day we experienced torrential rain which wasn’t a problem as the field was well drained.
Excellent value for money, fantastic pitch side Wi-Fi coverage We will be returning soon

First time at the site. Suited a group of backpackers well. Flat well drained field, excellent facilities'. Pub 1km away.
Great location to explore the Stiperstones from
