If we are in this part of the world again, this is the site we'd return to. We don't usually stay on sites with swimming pools, bars, clubs, etc, but this site seemed to get the best reviews in the area, we went, and weren't disappointed.

The staff at reception were very friendly and helpful both on the phone and in person.

The facilities were excellent. We didn't use either the indoor nor outdoor swimming pools, but both looked beautifully kept.

We did use the showers and loo block, and these were spotlessly maintained by very cheerful staff members who regularly checked and cleaned during each day. Excellently designed shower cubicles with good showers, adjustable temperature, and good provision for hanging clothes and towels out of splash range.

Decent size pitches, and we had the benefit of trees by ours, with constant bird song from a good variety of species.

We were there out of high season, so the site wasn't too busy. It will be a lot busier during holiday time.

There are clearly significant numbers of people who have seasonal pitches there, so keep coming back.

We had no children with us, but there are several good looking play areas.

The approach lane is narrow in places, and I wouldn't want to meet someone towing in the opposite direction. The site requests you to leave your pitch by 10. 00am, and whatever the official arrival timing, in reality new visitors started arriving very soon after that.

It's a bigger site than we realised at first, with a very pleasant bluebell wood to walk through, also a back gate (security coded - photo the number on your way out!) giving onto a lane which eventually leads to Stoke Gabriel.

It was a good base for visiting places in the area, even if Paignton itself isn't a seaside we'd rush to return to.

Nat. Trust properties included Coleton Fishacres, and Agatha Christie's holiday home. Dartington Hall and Buckfast Abbey with their lovely gardens were very well worth visiting too.

Just spent a 5 nights at Whitehill, and having stayed here many times I can say there are good and bad points for this site

Good

All the staff are polite, friendly and helpful.

Child and Dog Friendly

Bus Stop outside gate

Lovely walk to Stoke Gabriel

3 shower blocks. 2 were good

Good family entertainment at the pool and in the evenings.

Not Good

Can be noisy after 11pm

Everyone walks over everybody elses closely packed pitches

50% of pitches are on a severe slope.

Facility block in the middle of the park, especially the showers area were from the 1950's. Open drain for waste water, tiles and floor grimey, poorly lit, lots of cobwebs and even a slug climbing the wall

Waste bin area overflowing with rubbish at weekends

Food and drink expensive in bar

Poor wifi as phone signal poor too

For the money paid, the site is about average, but certainly not a top pick. Could be a great place with some investment in pitch flattening and middle facility showers block, and attention to detail when cleaning. Also some education to the campers regarding pitch etiquette would go some way to reducing stress levels when staying here.

Really impressed with facilities on site. A beautiful indoor swimming pool which was very clean. The outdoor pool was also fun.

Friendly staff.

The site was well looked after and tidy. Accommodation was also cleaned well.

A small shop for essentials but the supermarkets were only a short drive away.

Only criticism was that the evening entertainment for the children could be improved. However, we had a lovely stay!

Great site with really good facilities. Well stocked shop, good food and bar. Staff very helpful.

Most pitched are on level ground although there are some sloping, there is also a number of hard standing, however the reception staff will accommodate most requests for pitch type.

Highly recommend.

Returned to Whitehill to join up with family.

Many of the camping pitches in the top field has been turned over to Lodges, and there are many seasonal caravans in the bottom field.

The sites facilities are mixed, with toilets updated but the showers still need refurbishment.

The free Wifi is at best intermittent unless up by the bar, and the TV signal can be good if lucky.

There is a good free outdoor swimming pool, but the indoor pool and gym are additional costs.

The site was about 2/3 full during our stay, and many units seem to be close together.

There is a bus stop outside the gate for a bus to Paignton, and there is a lovely walk to Stoke Gabriel from a gate at the bottom of the site.

Brixham is a short drive away, very touristy but has some good fish and chip shops

Excellent site. Lovely facilities, perfect for our recent weekend away. We will definitely return.

Staff we met were friendly and helpful.

Outside pool complex is particularly good.

We did not use any food outlets so impossible to comment but honestly the nicest campsite I have ever stayed on

Return visit to Whitehill to have some quality time with family. Site was quite busy, even though the weather was wet and windy.

Toilets were always clean and have been refurbished which was a pleasant surprise.

Showers still need updating but again were clean.

The top field which was for tents is being taken over with Lodges, so there is a reduction in availability which means more of the sloping pitches are being used.

Caught the convenient bus service into Paignton and Brixham, and enjoyed a few beers in the clubhouse.

Will return

This site is excellent, from the booking process to the visit itself.

Facilities first rate, toilets spotlessly clean, hot showers (no payment needed), bar is reasonably priced with a decent selection of local beers and ciders. Even has entertainment in the evening.

Bus stop right outside to take you in to Paignton.

Actually cannot think of a single negative thing to say about this site.

Whitehill is a large site, with every conceivable type of mobile and static holidaying available. Whilst not our favourite site, we come to meet up with family and friends who have all different types of units and tents.

This year there is a new indoor swimming pool (at an additional cost like the gym), together with the outdoor pool. It wasn't used as the weather was so nice and warm.

The clubhouse facilities and takeaway food are convieniant but fairly expensive. The only real downside is that the main toilet block really needs taking apart and modernising.

It feels like a 50's toilet block that has been updated in a patchwork type of way to keep it in date, which unfortunately doesn't work.

TV signal is very poor, and the free wifi can be a bit hit and miss.

The location to the towns in Torbay is good, with a bustop right outside the site if you don't want to take the car, and the staff were always pleasant and helpful when asked for information.

Great campsite with really good toilet and shower facilities. Lovely hot water and no queuing at all.

Reception was really slick and a very friendly rep in a buggy showed us to the pitch. We had an issue with our power hook up that the maintenance man sorted for us with no fuss - really great service.

Bingo at the clubhouse was great fun, the swimming pool booking system was well organised and the shop well stocked.

The bus stops right at the front door of the site and takes you to Paignton seafroint in 10 minutes. Well done Whitehill.

Would definitely return.
