We selected this site as it is the closest to The Cotswold Distillery and we could cycle.

This is clearly a work in progress and I look forward to seeing how it develops.

However, from the camping perspective there is work to be done. The 4 electric points are near the entrance by the main road and along the fence shared with the local skip and landfill site. It starts it's working day around 6am but is finished by 5pm. It is noisy.

2 electric pitches are on the new car park area. On the plus side, the pitches are well drained and the van stays clean.

One toilet is at the rear of the building and used by the public in the beer garden. The shower room and toilet is accessed from the front of the building, the main road side. The shower is fine but the floor can be awash with water when heavily used. Both run out of loo roll by morning. Hot water is very hot when available but, again, cannot be guaranteed.

The pub is a busy place and stocks a good range of local beers. It has a limited range of food. The menu looks good but items were not available when we were there.

As I said initially, a work in progress and going in the right direction. A convenient stop over but be aware of the location. If you don't need electricity or welfare facilities, there is plenty of scope in the field to get away from the noise.

We were warmly welcomed by the people who ran the pub as well as the site.

Although the shower was pretty basic the camping spot was nice and quiet and the food in the pub was yummy.

I'd definitely recommend it.

Visiting Chipping Norton nearby was good too.

If you want a quiet, basic campsite in a beautiful part of the country, this place could be ideal.

It is quite basic, just a field behind a pub with 4 or 5 electric hookup points and no set pitches. There is a single toilet (when pub closed) a single shower and a chemical toilet disposal.

The field is not exactly level and slopes enough to make tricky when it is wet. (thankfully not a problem when we went) The price initially seemed good at £8 per night for two people in a campervan without hookup but they then charged us £5 per night for each of our 2 dogs, which we thought to be more than a little excessive considering that there were no extra facilities for dogs, not even any poop bins.

The pub itself was very nice and served very good food at a fair price and is dog friendly. The location is ideal for travelling around the Cotswolds and is within easy reach of Banbury and Chipping Norton but there is nothing really within walking distance.

If it wasn't for the high extra charges for the dogs I would happily recommend it but if you have dogs and/or children it does not offer great value for money.

The site is a little ’rustic’ and not very level so take your blocks.

Lovely location, lovely friendly pub with good food and beer.

Only 1 and a half miles from Hook Norton Brewery that is well worth a visit.

Good food at the pub and friendly staff.

Very much let down by the washing and toilet facilities. Two toilets both rubbish strewn. One toilet had no paper, no light, and only luke warm water. Second had little paper, weedy luke warm shower in dirty condition. Toilet was spattered with faeces. During our stay the floor was washed but the toilet pan ignored.

Staff member sympathetic but nothing changed. Recommend visiting the hook Norton brewery best prebooked for the tour.

Mostly uneven. Pub shut. Owner tearing about on Motocross bike at times. Plant hire company next door noisy from 7am and played loud music till midnight!

Toilet scruffy and no loo roll. Skip in corner overflowing. £10 a night for pitch but £12 extra for hookup!

Real shame as such a nice area.

Good campsite, very cheap (£5 for a tent in peak season). Very nice pub, very much recommend the food and the local beer.

Only issue was, as others have pointed out, the dogs (St Bernard's I think?) from the neighbours that barked through the night on and off, and came into the field in the morning, coming right up to the tent which made our dog scared, and helping itself to the dogs food before I ushered it away.

I think better fencing is required to separate the pub and campsite from the waste processing place where the dogs live.

Staff friendly and very welcoming to dogs. Will definitely keep in mind if in the area again/recommending to a friend!

Decent sized field at the back of a very good and welcoming pub and only £10 including hook up and a shower and toilet. If there is better value I would like to know where.

We didn't try the shower and toilet as we have them in the 'van so can't comment. The field was a bit uneven and on a slope but the ramps coped with it ok. We decided to eat in the pub and boy were we glad that we did.

It was excellent and plentiful. We will go again and would highly recommend it. We had booked a tour of Hook Norton brewery (about a mile away in the village) which was brilliantly done.

The guide obviously had a passion for his job (and I guess the beer) and made the tour fascinating. Top marks!

We have stayed here on two occasions now for a weekend, mainly as we have friends nearby. A very dog friendly place, and Pub too, so be warned if this not for you. And yes I did step in it!

Great food from the Pub. If it is wet you may struggle getting up the sloped field from the carpark so drive round the back and come through the gate downhill to you pitch. Not sure of facilities as we used our own.
