Brilliant site. Fantastic views and excellent clean facilities. Would highly recommend.
The walk into town was straight forward and the was a couple of nice footpaths close to the site.
The parkrun on Saturdays starts just down the road by the river.
We were impressed with the facilities provided for campers (table and chairs in the wash up room and some outside seating)
The host Jo was lovely and we felt it was a gen of a site.

As always Jo and her family made us extremely welcome and everything was spotless and in full working order.
Toilet and shower facilities including the new washing up area were immaculate and the site was pristine with the best views of Hay on Wye in the whole area!
The best campsite for viewing this quirky little town is right here and we hope to return for many more years.

Lovely little site.
Just outside Hay on Wye, short walk.
Clean toilets and shower.
Host welcoming.
Only downside was the weather.
Will book again next year.

This campsite is great - wonderful views, 10 mins' walk into Hay on Wye, small and peaceful, and with no random rules to worry about obeying.
The grass is very well kept and there are fruit and shrubby trees round the perimiter for shade if you're lucky enough to get any sun. The ground is very firm - bring rock pegs.
It's very popular with walkers and cyclists in lightweight tents, who tend to pitch up the slope, away from the EHU points. The one drinking water tap is here. Campervans, small motorhomes and larger tents go on the lower side towards Hay, where the ground is more level.
There are some drawbacks: the per-person pricing structure can make it very expensive depending on your party; the showers are an extra 50p a go for not-quite-long enough (so budget a pound for a decent shower) and were too hot for me; it's very near the road and there will be some noise during the day; the chemical disposal has a grating over the drain which clogs with paper; there aren't really enough loos.
Other than that it's a gem. Hay is great and there is a huge amount of interest within easy reach, including good walking right from your pitch, canoeing on the Wye, and Drovers Cycles who rent out bikes and e-bikes. If you enjoy a swanky meal out, Chapters in Wye is an all time favourite, and new discovery the Bull's Head Inn at Craswall is a delight.
Jo the owner is very helpful and communicative. Congratulations to her on a wonderful site.

What a fantastic site - thank you so much to the hosts, who are delightful and very helpful.
This is only a small site but ticks all the boxes. The toilets and showers are spotless and spacious. The kitchen area is also kept immaculate.
It's less than a 10 minute walk into town and has beautiful views of the surrounding area.
We will definitely be back.
