 This is a lovely campsite with modern, clean facilities.
Little disappointed that dogs are not allowed in the building and the open nature of the shower changing area.
Other than that, I would recommend.

Fantastic campsite. We had a wonderful spot overlooking the sea.
Facilities were super clean and spacious.
Friendly staff and good amount of space for tent.
Highly recommended.

Camped here in a small campervan for a week mid-August. This community-run site is perfect - well-kept, spotlessly clean and superbly located.
Camping pitches are perfectly level and, even with the horrendous rain we experienced, well-drained. There is plenty of space between units and plenty of room across the site to roam, play ball games etc. And a superb play area for children. There's a gated path that leads to a two-minute walk to the water's edge.
Facilities on the site are excellent. There are ample toilets and showers, all immaculately clean and with endless hot water. There is a communal kitchen for laundry, pot-washing etc, that includes a microwave too. The on-site restaurant is great too, lots of restaurant standards plus some more adventurous options, lovely food and reasonable prices.
The location is glorious, fantastic views overlooking the sea. The site is a short walk (maybe 10 minutes) from Port Charlotte, a village with a shop, fuel pumps, a lovely bar (Lochindaal Hotel) and an amazing fish restaurant (Lochindaal Seafood Kitchen).
There's very little competition on the island, barely any other campsites, so no reason for the team to try as hard, yet they do! A special mention for James who came out to help us on a miserable wet evening when we had problems with the electrics.

Beautiful views, Great staff all very helpful.
Immaculate showers and washing facilities.
Perfect base to explore the wonderful lsland and all it has to offer. Whisky, wildlife and wonderful hospitality

This is a very nice campsite with a wonderful view over the bay, beautiful lawn for tents and non-electric caravans and motorhomes, as well as paved pitches with electricity.
The location in the middle of the island is good for completely exploring the island (whiskey distilleries, beaches, towns) or taking a walk along the beach. The place is within walking distance to buy small items in the small supermarket.
The sanitary facilities are excellent, the number, furnishings and equipment are good as well as the cleanliness, as they are cleaned very well on a regular basis. There is also a washing machine and dryer and charging options for cell phones, batteries, etc.
The playground on site is one of the best equipped I've seen for a campsite.
The on-site cafe or restaurant is also very good for enjoying a coffee or lunch during the day or a beer and dinner in the evening.
The costs for the parking space are given the good infrastructure
There are only two things that you might miss as a camper:
1. Power connections on the tent meadow if you need them. The permanent places with electricity were fully booked when we were there.
2. A small camper kitchen, especially for people with a tent, so that they can warm up and cook in bad weather. Of course, the restaurant can also be used for this purpose, apart from cooking.

Dies ist ein sehr schöner Campingplatz mit einem herrlichen Blick über die Bucht, schöner Wiese für Zelte und keinen Strom benötigende Wohnwagen und Wohnmobile sowie befestigten Plätzen mit Strom.
Die Lage ungefähr in der Mitte der Insel ist gut, um die Insel (Whiskeydestillerien, Strände, Orte) komplett zu erkunden bzw. Am Strand entlang spazieren zu gehen. Der Ort ist direkt zu Fuß erreichbar, um hier Kleinigkeiten I'm kleinen Supermarkt einzukaufen.
Die Sanitäranlagen sind ausgezeichnet, sowohl die Anzahl, Einrichtung und Ausrüstung sind gut als auch die Sauberkeit, da sie regelmäßig sehr gut gereinigt werden. Zudem gibt es Waschmaschine und Trockner und Lademöglichkeiten für Handys, Akkus etc.
Der Spielplatz auf dem Gelände ist für einen Campingplatz einer der best ausgestattesten, den ich gesehen habe.
Das Cafe bzw. Restaurant vor Ort ist ebenfalls sehr gut, um tagsüber einen Kaffee oder Mittagessen bzw. Abends ein Bier und Dinner zu genießen.
Die Kosten für den Stellplatz sind angesichts der guten Infrastruktur
Es gibt lediglich zwei Dinge, die man eventuell als Camper vermissen könnte:
1. Stromanschlüsse auf der Zeltwiese, falls man diese benötigt. Die festen Plätze mit Stromanschluss waren ausgebucht, als wir da waren.
2. Eine kleine Camperküche insbesondere für Leute mit Zelt, um sich bei schlechtem Wetter dort aufwärmen und kochen zu können. Hierfür kann natürlich bis auf das Kochen auch das Restaurant genutzt werden.

We spent 3 days at the campsite.
The place is beautifully located and very well maintained.
The welcome was very warm.
The sanitary facilities were super clean.
We can only recommend the place.

Wir haben 3 Tage auf dem Campingplatz verbracht.
Der Platz ist sehr schön gelegen und sehr gepflegt. Der Empfang war sehr herzlich. Die Sanitäranlagen waren super sauber.

Fine site. Nice staff. Good cafe. Spacious warm toilets and showers
Don’t miss the little beach at the southern end of the hook up corner.
The hotel bar is lovely - live music on Weds.

Beautiful site overlooking Loch Indal (we saw dolphins whilst sitting by our van)
With great location within easy walking distance of Port Charlotte and Bruichladdich distillery.
Very clean and modern toilet and shower block with café on site and children’s playground

Used this campsite as wanted to explore islay.
NOT a campervan, but no option for landrover with a roof tent.
Communication with warden prior to arrival was excellent and continued throughout the stay.
Ensure you plan to arrive before 2000hrs as the warden leaves then.
The pitch was unserviced, so the choice of location was abudant.
The views, wherever you pitch on this site, are amazing, perfect for a stunning sunrise.
The facilities are nothing short of amazing.
Toilets and wash basins were clean, tidy, with plenty of room.
Showers were hot, powerful with plenty of changing space.
It cost £12 per night per person, electric was another £10.
This is definitely a place to visit and would recommend to anyone.

The best things about the site are the location, the view from the serviced pitches and the short walk to Port Charlotte.
The disappointing things are the pitches are a bit too close together so it’s unlikely that you could use and awning;
The showers which only have curtains, doors that get wedged open which I had to keep closing as the shower facilities me feeling vulnerable on my own. The shower room needs the ability to lock a door on a cubicle. No hair drier in the shower room or the toilets.
The opening times of the cafe are unreliable and not as advertised. We weren’t able to use the cafe for take away evening meals as the kitchen closed early every day we were there.
The hotel in Port Charlotte does great food and a good selection of local whiskies and beers.
There is a local bus that stops outside the centre so between cycling and the bus we didn’t move our camper all week.
It’s a bit more expensive than other sites we have stayed on on other Scottish Islands.
