Nice wee site but not enough toilets (we always had to queue for a while) and no hot water at all for showers, hand washing or dish washing which really spoiled our visit.

The squeaky gate was annoying too, as it was being used from about 5. 30am until well after 10. 30pm and it squeaked every time someone opened it. A wee bit of oil might sort this.

Has the potential to be a lovely wee site.

 Small quiet campsite. Lovely owners.

Well kept pitches and clean spacious facilities.

Nice to have a separate toilet from the wetrooms.

Just great and dog friendly.

Visited with my dog and loved this site.

It is calm and peaceful, showers and loos fantastic, super hot and clean.

Great freezer to re-ice my fridge packs as well as cool my beer :-)

WiFi was good too. Owners are really helpful and kind.

Will definitely visit again.

 Fabulous little campsite!

Very friendly welcome,

Great hardstanding pitches and well spaced out,

Toilet and shower rooms are the best we've been too after many years in our campervan when we come back to Arran next year 🤞

We will definitely be back thank you so much

Nice enough site with views of surrounding countryside but had changed hands between us booking and staying. The previous owner led us to believe that it was disabled friendly but it is not.

Steep slopes to toilets, showers and chemical toilet disposal make for a difficult stay for someone on crutches. No hand rails on the slopes. Fine for the able bodied.

The pricing structure is odd but doesn’t work out too badly overall. Just feels expensive to pay £4 per person for one daily shower and use of toilet.

Fuel, food and pub a few miles away in Blackwaterfoot. Lots to see and do on the island. Everything is relatively expensive due to the difficulties of getting supplies to the island. People generally very friendly. Lovely walks and quiet, if stony, beaches.

Ferries unreliable in what don’t seem such bad conditions, hopefully this will improve when the new ferry starts this year. We ended up using the Lochranza ferry both ways as Brodick was cancelled. It seems that CalMac are not keen to rebook you after they cancel if you are towing a caravan.

Enjoyed Loch Lomond on the way back but Glasgow traffic is awful going the long way round to head South.

Having visited Arran previously on multiple occasions previously it was time to try this site for the first time.

It has recently been taken over by new owners.

Facilities are very clean. The site has lovely views to the northern mountains and over to Machrie moor and onto kinryre and the kilbrannan sound.

There’s a nice walk from the site up into the forest. We couldn’t complete the circuit as the water crossing was too high for our little dog. The site is very quiet and peaceful.

It’s next to the main road but quiets down in the evening. No lights here at night (bring a torch) and provides good stargazing opportunities and a clear view to the north for aurora.

My only regret is that we only had one night at this super friendly little site. Couldn’t have had a more friendly welcome.

Our pitch was flat hard standing but some May need to chock. We had lovely mountain views.

Didn’t use shower facilities but good cdp. Lovely small play area including a sandpit for little ones.

Blackwaterfoot is close by with the nicest beach on the island, a fantastic bakery, excellent village shop, sandwich shop(excellent breakfast in a box), good butcher, newsagent and pub. What more do you need! Oh a golf course too!

Road to Brodick across the island is stunning and we were lucky to watch a soaring eagle.

Suggest at least 2-3 nights here.

Only campsite open at time of booking. Stayed for a week in motorhome with awning so no intention of driving. Centrally located for cycling the north and south ends of the island on different days - but The String Road is a killer whichever way you approach it! Bus to Brodick picks up at the site gate. Or catch the buses that loop around the north or south of the island from Blackwaterfoot (3 miles from site).

We found a decent circular forest and moorland walk behind site and another good walk to Blackwaterfoot and along the shoreline to King’s Caves, up through the forest returning to Shiskine via Torbeg. This walk could be extended to visit Machrie stone circles but we included this in a cycling trip.

All hard standing and some grass pitches are level.

Three combined toilet and shower rooms. Site was very quiet when we visited but I suspect the toilet facilities might be a bit stretched if all 15 pitches were full with families.

Small play area.

Lovely sunsets and views across to Kintyre.

A nice quiet site with friendly staff.

It's easily found as its near the road.

Only a couple of miles to shops and a hotel.

A perfect base for exploring Arran.
