Over the last years we have travelled the length and breath of our wonderful island in our caravan. About two years ago we discovered Chapelcombe Farm. What a find.
Everything you could possibly want to enjoy your caravan, is catered for there.
The location, the amenities, and the most genuine, friendly welcome you could ever wish for, from Andrew and Tracey. The park is spacious, and immaculate, with each caravan having its own facilities.
All you have to do is relax, and enjoy, because, thanks to Andrew and Tracey, Chapelcombe Farm, IS, Simply the Best.
What a little gem, Tracey and Andrew are the perfect hosts, so helpful with local knowledge. Good local pub close by offering great food, Also shop selling a range of foods. It does have a bus stop opposite the pub, leaves early and returns after 2pm.
If you want a walking holiday to take in Burge Island Bigbury On Sea is in walking distance. You can continue your south west coastal path on Burge Island stop for lunch then return later. via mobile
Great little place near Burgh island, water electric and bin by your pitch, very clean showers and toilet, friendly owners, pub and shop few mins walk away, good signal for tv, plenty of info on area, hard standing and grass. via mobile
Award-winning camping and glamping on the edge of Dartmoor National Park near Tavistock, Devon. 40 grass and hardstanding pitches for tents, touring caravans and motorhomes with optional electric hook-ups. Choose between the scenic Daffodil Field with moorland views or the sheltered old walled garden. For those preferring a bit more comfort, the park provides camping pods and mega pods.
Immaculate facilities with free hot showers, toilets, hairdryers, underfloor heating, laundry, dishwashing, games room, small shop, WIFI and playground. The onsite manor house hosts a dog-friendly restaurant and bar serving evening meals. Surrounded by mature woodlands with direct access to Dartmoor, with Tavistocks amenities just a short drive away. Perfect spot to explore Devon and Cornwall's main attractions Find out more here
This is a great CC CL. Very helpful response on phone contact and Andrew and Tracey were so friendly and helpful on arrival and during our stay. Site is spacious and very well equipped for a CL with hook up and tap at each pitch and a small clean shower and toilet block. Access roads a little challenging for inexperienced drivers or large units. Lovely views across the Devon countryside, local shop and put. Good location for touring S Devon coast and Cannot. Only negative point is that site is quite exposed in strong winds. Hope to return soon.
One our top favourite CL (Caravan Location) sites so far.
Spacious grass pitches along with two hard standings, each with it's own tap, electric and tall bin. The Grass was cut short and cut again during our visit.
We did not need the levellers on our grass pitch, (No. 5, ) which was nearest to the Farm Bungalow and Campsite facilities of WC's, showers, big wash sink and welcoming information leaflets of the area.
The Campsite has scenic farm views and the Dartmoor hills in the distant. To the west you can just see the sea, we had some fabulous sunsets.
The Farm Owners were a lovely, helpful couple. They keep cows, sheep and chickens, which keeps them very busy, always around if you needed them. You can buy their fresh free range eggs, Lamb and Beef.
The small village of St Anne's Chapel has a Church, Pub and a village shop which sells gas bottles, just down the road from the campsite.
Bigbury on Sea and Burgh Island are a short car journey down the road. Easy reach of Thurlstone, Salcombe, Kingsbridge, Plymouth, Start Point, Hope Cove, Hall Sands and Slapton Sands among many lovely places to see in the area.
We had fun driving on the nearby 'tidal road' which helps to cut several miles off your journey time, a bit hair raising the first time, but you soon get use to it.
Great campsite, we'll be back again one day.
