5 Reviews of the Classic

Bought ours 2nd hand from lovely couple who demonstrated how to set up. These units are easy to use BUT you must do things in order and if you forget to roll the side bar upright then pull tent out of the main base YOU WILL bend the pram hood tent bar and thats £100 fix part sent from camperlands (who I found very helpful). The other awkward job is, when dismantling, when you collapse the tent into the base you have to remove the short centre bar. Our first attempts were impossible until I realised to lift the pram hood sections, angling so straight so as to make bar removal simple otherwise the bar is pinched tight.

Lastly the cooker is attached to the outer door with only 2 screws, which over time have bounced around on the journey and loosened. When we got home opened the door and the cooker promptly fell off the door. A simple fix but we werent expecting it. All of the above were learned from using the unit.

We love ours and I would recommend the camplet 100% But just like everything though, find videos on youtube and ask for help if unsure.

We bought 3' memory foam matresses for added comfort as we're 'mature campers' makes a world of difference. And by using those vacuum bags can take a quantity of clothes, towels etc.

ENJOY.

We bought ours from a pay out(insurance money), after our caravan was written off. It was suppose to be temporary, but it has proved to be so good we have kept it.

We now have travelled much further with the Camp-Let (so easy to tow),last year we did the Camping & Caravan Club Western France Escorted Tour with ease. At the tolls we were charged the same as a car (the camera seem unable to see the Camp-Let).

We were worried about feeling cold but a electric fan heater seems enough to keep you comfortable. We seem to sleep better in the Camp-let than anything else we have had, is it because you are under canvas? We are not sure but the bed is good.

The best thing is the amount or room/space, the hardest thing is setting up and packing up. I find it takes just over an hour, but it is well designed to keep it simple.

We love our Camplet. You don't even notice it when towing. Light enough to push about into place and can be set up lightly for a quick one nightery in the rain in about 10 min or properly in 45 min.

We've had ours for 3 years and have been watching prices. They seem to hold there value well.

Planning to upgrade to a newer model next year.

What a horrendous experience , and the worst spend I ever made.

After initial setup, first fault was the sink bar worked open in transit, which prevented the trailer from being able to open more than 1'. It took an hour and an engineer friend to work out what he problem was. There was no clip to hold it closed, and didnt seem to matter what I did, each trip it worked open. I ended up having to tye it with a strip of cloth.

Second problem was the clips to hold inner tent in place- they kept popping off at the slightest pressure, stretching until they were unable to hold up any more.

Third problem was the razor sharp metal inside the cupboard, which sliced my finger regularly(definitely not safe with grandchildren around.)

I phoned camperlands where I Had purchased it (from new) on each occasion. (to take it back was a round trip of 6 hours minimum) and verbally helped by a lovely assistant, who unfortunately had no authority to solve the problem.

Fourth problem was when the kitchen finally fell of. I found it had only been secured with two screws which were only finger tight.

By this time I was more than upset and had lost all confidence in it , dreading even opening it up!

After it had been seen in their workshop, I was told it was entirely my fault, and I had forced the door open, causing the damage. It didn't matter what I said, I was accused time and time again.

I challenged him on this over many months, and finally went to trading standards for legal advice.

Unfortunately, because it had only been seen there once, and they agreed to'fix'the problem, they were within their rights not to do anything further.

I was given my choice by them to take it and sell it myself, or they would trade it in.

I ended up trading it back to them at over £2500 loss to me- plus no no acknowledgement or one penny reimbursement for the awning extension !

No I am not happy with the camplet, or the customer service I received! would never trade with camperlands again!

Bring back my raclet solena!

WE have used this unit/tent for 6 years and found it very easy to erect and durable. However a recent check revealed the need for repairs and Camplerlands of Manchester were very helpful and efficient in putting right the problems and assisted our Camp and Caravanning Club Insurance to remedy the faults.
