5 Reviews of the Solena

I owned one of these for a short period.
Lovely unit, ideal for s solo traveller or couple, even without the optional awning (mine didn't have one)
Good bits: quick to set up the basic unit, with no pegging out, although I found it a bit of a fiddle to attach the corner poles in the bedroom area.
The not-so-good bits: The C clips which attach the canvas of the living area to the trailer seemed to break easily.
I didn't keep the unit long as I found it hard work lifting the 'floor' of the unit up from ground level when packing away.
The promotional video from Raclet shows a young lady opening up a Solena with ease, but unfortunately doesn't show her doing the process in reverse! Maybe I'm just a weakling, however as I didn't want to do my back any further injuries I sold the trailer on.
If I could have managed the packing-up process more easily I would certainly have kept the Solena, a smashing little unit!

We love our Solena!
This is our first trailer tent and we are still very new to camping so our experiences are from a 'mature' couple who have only had an airbeam tent before this.
We selected this trailer tent after considering a Camplet trailer which was kindly demonstrated to us by David at Highbridge Caravans. While we were there we took the opportunity to look at all of the trailer tents that Highbridge had for sale and liked the look of the Solena. The clincher was actually a video review of the Solena by the Camping and Caravan Club. We realised we would be happier with a hard topped trailer with a cotton canvas canopy and awning. The Solena was also very competitively priced when compared with a Camplet and we have really enjoyed fitting it out to fit our needs including obtaining at Outwell folding kitchen that stows under the bed and takes minutes to assemble once the awning has been pitched.
We purchased our Solena in the autumn of 2021 from Highbridge and were really pleased with the service and the deal they provided. We went for the front box as an optional accessory which was fitted by Highbridge for us prior to our collection. On the day of collection the main tent opening and stowing was demonstrated to us as well as hitching/unhitching.
The main tent is as other have mentioned, quick and easy to open up although we did take a couple of goes before we realised exactly how the correct height dimension was achieved (just keep lowering the corner jacks until you get the correct clearance for the lid to lay flat on the ground). In fact we have removed the huge speed brace that is provided by Raclet and instead now use a 1/2' drive socket and normal sized speed brace to raise and lower the jacks as it is far easier to do using this combination and also is significantly lighter to carry.
The main tent is easy to open up and pitch but there are things to watch out for when stowing the tent to ensure nothing obstructs the lid. Tip - the lid hinge can be a pinch area so make sure none of the main canopy material is rucked up at this location.
We leave our awning attached to the main tent. We remove the three side panels and pull it over the main tent before closing the lid. This has not been an issue at all with closing the lid (plenty of clearance) and it makes pitching the awing significantly quicker and less stressful the next time its opened.
We tow our Solena with a Citroen C3 Aircross and the trailer is braked so it really is very easy to tow and can at a pinch, be reversed as long as you take your time with it.
You will see from the pics I have uploaded that the bedroom is very cosy and we love sleeping in our Solena. In fact during the recent heat wave in July 2022 we slept comfortably in our trailer in our back garden. It was the coolest place to be in during night time!
Just remembered, we have experienced a couple of jockey wheel lowering incidents while on the road after negotiating rough/uneven roads. This has been addressed by fitting a short bungee chord to the jockey wheel handle that applies tension and prevents it from dropping.

Ive brought my Solena trailer tent back in 2015 and have used it up to 2020. I've have no problems with this trailer tent at all. I agree with all the reviews. Great tent. PS. If you get any mildew on your TENT canvas. Just use malt vinegar to kill the mildew leave for 20 min then wash off with warm water mixed with salt and a squeezed lemond. If mildew mark is still there, repeat as above.

I absolutely love this trailer tent, over the years we've owned trailer tents caravans, folding caravans, air tents this is by far the best. I can tow it with my citroen c3 no problem. Both my husband and I have mobility issues so this is great for us with no pegging. Takes 5 mins to put up and is ideal for weekends away. Looks really stylish with the round windows. We store most of our equipment under the bed which is super comfy. We have since purchased a raclet box for extra storage for bigger items such as a loo and fridge. Not tried the awning yet but will post as soon as I do.

I brought this because it's so easy and quick to put up and down even on my own. Everything I need can be stored under the bed (except food and clothes unless you pack light). My come with an awning which I don't really use but if needed it took me about 20 min to pitch. They are very well made so do last. My is 16 years old and apart from a few mildew stains it functions fine and if on a budget can be picked up for under £500. Manuf say it's 2 berth but if you pack away kitchen you can put a airbed on the floor so sleep 4 and with the awning and bedroom extension you could go crazy and sleep 8 so it's very flexible. It's very light so towing it with a small car is no problem. I couldn't be more pleased with mine

The Solena is a very quick to erect 2 berth trailer tent that will appeal to those who like to just get up and go. It will be fully up within 5 minutes and is ideal for short breaks, with the option of the awning for longer stops. The Solena does not come complete with a kitchen, however there are lots of compact cooker units and stands available that can be used in the awning next to the ventilated window.
