1 Reviews of the Cherokee

By: Stonemonkey69  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2018   Rating:

This really is a Fantastic bit of kit! Very easy to erect and takes me about 15mins on my own. Materials, design and construction are first rate and it really stands up well to high winds and heavy weather if pegged out well. Lots of pegging points and guy lines are plentiful and strong. Much sturdier than the Klondike due to its shape.

Only downside is not having a lip above the door to stop rain dripping in when venting. There is a really excellent venting system at the top but this is only adjustable from the outside but I have never seen it as too much of a hindrance.

The groundsheet can by zipped off and this makes the tent very versatile. Pole is excellent quality and comes apart so that all the sections slide inside each other (with practice lol) and is very compact with its own bag.

A 2x2 bedroom can be purchased as an accessory but I rarely use this as most of the time it is used as my winter tent with a wood burning stove and I like the space that the one room provides. It has its own stove pipe opening at the top/front and this works well when using a triple walled pipe section where it touches the material.

When taking with the canoe, I leave the ground sheet behind ant this saves quite a bit of weight.

Highly recommended tent and not many out there to be seen.

Manufacturer's Description

The Cherokee is a classic and good-looking tipi that sleeps up to six people. The large door makes access to the ample living space easy and enhances the feeling of space. Flexible ventilation is offered by the apex mesh vent – alongside an elasticated stovepipe port. A zip runs from door to centre of the versatile zip-in groundsheet, enabling it to be safely folded back when using the optional stove, or to create a wet area.
