5 Reviews of the Valdes 6 XL FastPitch Air

By: Clayres  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2017   Rating:

Bought for £730, still pricey, but love it. Once pegged out, up in 10 mind, add another 20 mins to stake out fully, and porch due to size can be a bit difficult. Love the black out bedrooms, Huge living area. Canopy not on air poles, and only down size, in winds, pegs can come out. We have invested in some heavy duty ones to try and ensure canopy stays in position.

It folds down easily, and I have put up on my own. We go to 6 PSI, which feels sturdy. Instructions now say between 5 PSI and 7 PSI. Does take up most of my boot space, but don’t need separate porch or Gazebo. Front door works well, but opens outwards and is high, but when all of us sheltering from rain, need to move chairs to get in and out should we need to. Shame no footprint yet, but can’t see us buying another tent as love it so much. Some small gripes, but good outweigh any negatives.

This is a great tent. Easy to pitch and it goes up very quickly. Other positives, the space and those black out bedrooms!

Things to improve: The hinged door: The velcro doesn't line up properly making it hard to use for little ones, the bottom of the door is also a bit high making it easy to stumble. The black-out bedrooms may need a cable entry so that you can have a night light for reading without needing to leave the door open. A battery operated light would also solve this problem but it is annoying to have to buy extra stuff when you already have cabled lighting.

Bought second-hand for family camping. The tent goes up in less than 20 mins. We sleep adults and toddlers in the dark sleeping room which fits four blow-up mattresses side by side. Having camped for many years, I really appreciated the dark tech and would recommend to anyone camping with children. The interior living area is spacious and can easily fit a table, chairs kitchen area and the 3rd bedroom/playroom/toilet. It takes up most of our saloon car boot and so future camping trips will now require a trailer or roofbox.

My first inflatable tent and I love it. Really quick to pitch and peg out. The bedrooms are spacious and the living area is enormous. The black-out bedrooms make all the difference with young children. I bought a tarp to use as a footprint as there wasn't one available for the tent itself. The instructions suggest pumping the inflatable poles to 7psi but 5psi seems plenty and less risky in the heat and you could always top it up if it felt wobbly. The tent arrived in a box about the size of a small chest freezer but didn't seem quite that big when we got it out of the box. It does weigh about 5 stone so although it can be put up by one person you might need some help to get it out of (or back into) your vehicle. If it had a bigger canopied area at the front this would have been a 10.

I very much like the inflating technology so that you can easily pitch a 6 person by yourself in less than 15 minutes.

Another excellent feature is the Blackout Bedroom technology that features a dark sleeping room where there is no sunlight coming in. Pretty convenient when you got kids like me and only go camping in summer when the sun rises early in the morning.
