4 Reviews of the Airgo Solus Horizon 4

By: Haarstadt  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2020   Rating:

Bought one of these after our trusty but aged steel framed Vango Maritsa family tent (9/10 for this spacious but sadly no longer made tent) started to leak. It had been reproofed using Fabsil - which proved to be a waste of time. Leaked worse after treatment than it did before.

Rather than cancel our break I bought this from a national retailer complete with porch. It went up fairly quick. It was very cramped for four people. Returned two days later as not fit for purpose. Dreadful. Collapsed under moderately high winds (the Berghaus branded tent alongside us flexed but didn't collapse). We spent the night in the car, abandoned the trip (it was that or my death at the hands of my spouse and kids).

I might consider an inflatable tent in the future, but not this one, and probably not this brand.

Had this on offer from go outdoors and have owned it for approx 2 years. I've only used it handful of times but in general the tent is great. It so,e some minor issues with condensation build up (more vents required) but apart from that it's a solid tent. Repairing leaks in the tubes can be a challenge but not impossible. I would say that it will get very cramped with 4 people camping in it.

Fantastic tent. We purchased this tent about a month ago after having to spend a full day in a small 2 man tent on an air bed due to rain. The airgo horizon 4 has loads of space for me, my fiance and our chihuahua. The tent is really warm and sturdy. The description says it takes 5 mins to effect, we were sceptical, but it really does take about 5 mins to put up. Absolutely love this tent and for a great price of £450, you get the footprint and carpet included from go outdoors.

I got this on offer with a carpet and footprint for a bargain price of £299. I'd already considered inflatable tents a few years ago so when I saw this one on display last month it was too goof a deal not to miss. I bought it because I reckoned I'd be able to pitch it myself as I'm a single mum with two girls aged 6 and 3 who couldn't be relied upon. It is Very easy to put up and plenty big enough for us. I've only rated it 9 out of 10 because of 2 reasons : It could do with a porch or extension option and the way the doors seal onto velcro at the bottom was a bit tricky to do, especially last thing at night. It is also a impossible to enter or exit if raining without letting a bit of water in. Having said that, this could also be my inexperience. This is the first tent I've bought and I've used it once.

Manufacturer's Description

Hi Gear Airgo Solus tents are inflatable, pole-free tents with individual inflation points on each Air Tube. It''s an incredibly quick pitching system that results in a sturdy, rigid tent that still has enough ''give'' to cope with strong wind (premium Airgo tents have a single inflation point for all tubes, making for an even quicker ‘all in one’ pitching tent). Airgo Solus tents also use a lighter flysheet material than premium Airgo tents.

The Airgo Solus Horizon 4 Tent has a simple tunnel layout with a spacious bedroom, a large living area and big windows to give it a roomy feel and let light in.

Pre-attached luminous guylines help you to keep the tent stable in windy conditions, and remain visible in low light (especially on a crowded campsite).

There are additions to the Horizon 4 available, to make your camp even more comfortable. The Horizon 4 Carpet will make it feel more homely by adding underfoot softness and warmth, and the Horizon 4 Footprint will insulate and protect the floor (and make pitching the tent even easier).

Comes with Airgo pump, steel tent pegs, guyropes attached
Standing height, roomy porch/entrance - enough space for a table and chairs
Ideal for couples, festivals, weekend camping
