This is a lightweight trailer tent which is ideal for 2 people, although there are extensions for a further two people or the the free standing adventure tent can also attach into the main unit.
We chose this model because the one approached the enormous double bed from the foot, rather than the side. So there was no need for one person to clamber ober the other.
With the solid floor, which serves as the lid when packed, there is a considerable degree of warmth and comfort in the small living cabin.
The fore tent/awning is integral to the main body and erects easily and without any faffing around for poles or pegs or guy ropes. This means you can be erected in a very fast time.
Once the front of the awning is zipped in, there is a very large snug living area in addition to the main cabin. We camped in the Pyrennees with 4cm of snow and had no problems.
The kitchen is easily manoeuvered with its sturdy wind down wheels, Use on the A-frame or wheel around to wherever you want. Our kitchen featured fridge, hob, storage, gas bottle and shelves. ( We opted not to have the sink fitted, using more storage instead.) Other variations are available.
In hot sweltering climates, the opening up of the airflow in the roof is wonderfully efficient. On campsites other people we coming into our tent for respite.
Under the enormous deep mattress, which is on lightweight alumininum and wood slats, there a storage area which takes 11 of those collapsible crates.
All securing of guy ropes and awnings is via bungee interfaces with the pegs, which allows the whole structure to flex in storms. You are safe and dry whilst others are having trouble.
The whole trailer tent is very light and is on large wheels, which make it very manoeuverable and easily towed. We were in our late seventies and could manage it easily.
Only problem is that there was no toilet in the unit, which became of more and more importance to us!
Our record for erecting the unit and being in bed was 17 minutes, but normally it takes about 20 - 30 minutes for the basic set up.
Because every panel unzips from its neighbour, and extra pieces added, the configuration that you end up with can change several times a day if you are so inclined.
We loved it and still pine for it.

The design of a sporty tent and the ultimate comfort of a Holtkamper tent trailer in one. The Astro has been designed specifically for high adventure treks. After all, it comes with the world's fastest folding system.
Inside the Astro there is a double bed, with a slatted base to reduce condensation and eliminate the need for daily airing of the mattress. The mattress is made from high density foam, ensuring comfort and longevity, and the aluminium frame, fitted with gas struts, makes the bed very lightweight and easy to lift to gain access to the large, 750 litre, storage space underneath.
The Astro was extensively tested in Iceland. On off-road tracks, in flying gravel, across rivers and turbulent streams. None of which proved to be a problem! No wonder, considering the characteristics that make the Astro so unique: extremely low weight, large car wheels, heavy Alko chassis and axle, time-proven trailer construction and an exceptionally weatherproof tent.
