I am a wild camper and solo backpacker who wanted a tent which could handle all weathers and was strong enough to withstand all the rigours our hobby throws at it.
The Robens Starlight 1 tent does all that! I love this tent, I have owned it for a number of years now and it has been tested to the full in all weathers. It is exceptionally waterproof and withstands the wind very well, I love the ease of setup and the comfort it provides when erected.
The only downsides if any, are firstly the weight, it is a little heavy, but I match my kit to compensate. The weather protection alone is one of the main reasons for buying this excellent tent, so not that much of a worry to be honest.
The only other gripe I would say, is the size of the vestibule, which is a little small and can be tight if you want to cook and or store your pack, but not bad.
All in all a great 1 person backpacking tent, that really works hard when the weather is against you.

This is a really good quality backpacking tent with many outstanding features that you will not even find on more expensive tents such as low venting system & vents that can be fully adjusted from the inside, genius!
All in one, single pole erection & extremely waterproof and stable in strong wind, with a very low profile.
For a tiny tent there is a reasonable size porch to store your gear & pack.
I particularly like the cheerfully yellow interior, a real bonus when the weather is foul! The gear rope is useful for drying & hanging damp clothes.
The only thing I can mark it down on, & this is being ultra picky is the pack size could be slightly smaller & maybe the weight a little lighter. Still its not bad, & it is good to see Robens have concentrated on using very good quality materials, well thought out design & very good build quality, for which they have a great reputation for.
All in all a great tent for a really good price.
If your looking for a small lightweight backpacking tent that's waterproof & very stable in wind & very quick &easy to erect/pack this would be a great option.
PS you can just about sit up in this tent which is unusual for such a tiny tent. Well done Robens.

Solo trekkers and cyclists will appreciate the low weight and exceptional value of the Starlight 1. It pitches easily and quickly using clip-on hooks to the main alloy hoop pole that is preangled to maximise useable space and comfort. Four attached short corner poles add height at head and feet. An insect-proof mesh door and vents that can be adjusted from inside all enhance ventilation.
