3 Reviews of the Toledo 8 Select SG

This tent is huuuuuuge! The pictures (3 uploaded here) don't do it justice.

Despite that, it can be pitched in around 25 minutes - very easy.

It was maybe an unwise choice for festivals - people were using it as a landmark for navigation!

Last night it was used in our garden for 5 happy lads to have a sleepover.

It has also been used, without bedrooms, as a kind of marquee for a barbecue in filthy weather.

If you see one second hand (it's discontinued) and have a big family, snap it up.

Particularly recommended for week-long camps in the UK when you can't rely on the weather - if it's chucking it down, just roll up the bedrooms and your kids have a huge, dry play-area.

I wouldn't generally use it for shorter stays.

Go for it!

Now in third season of using this tent - Still think it's great! With the small sleeping compartment removed we have loads of indoor space for the kids to play in, the tent is sturdy and stands up well to the vagaries of British weather, straightforward to put up ( with 2 adults) - all round a jolly good tent.

The side porch is also great; we don't have a portable toilet so use it like a porch which means no rain in the main tent even in the foulest of conditions.

On hot days (yes there have been some!) you can unzip the whole of the 'wall' between the living area and the large front porch and really get the air moving.

Excellent light and ventilation ( Vents and windows down both sides & large front windows).

All in all, very pleased with our tent, which we got as an ex display, and which is still going strong.

I have just tried out my new Toledo 8, its brilliant - loads of room, enough windows to stay cool and I must say that we actually like the fact that the ground sheet is sewn in - less insects! We use the added porch on the side to put our portable toilet in so that it is away from the sleeping areas. The only point I would make is to buy some tougher pegs as the one's supplied are a bit weedy and also we had no instructions with our tent and had to print them off from the website - but they weren't very clear. Brilliant tent though!
