1 Reviews of the Trail Meldon 5

By: Michael Honnor  Reason: I own(ed) one  Made in: 2023   Rating:

The TraiI Meldon 5 tent is an excellent tent. It is easy to erect/packup and even fits back in the tent bag easily at the campsite. The living area has plenty of headroom for someone my height, 6’4”, king poles are included for the sun canopy, it packs up small for such a large tent with a high 5000mm hydrostatic head and it is a very good price.

The only downsides that we have found, so far, is the left front window curtain does reach the Velcro to shut it properly. It is a pity that there is no tent carpet available for this tent.

Manufacturer's Description

https://www.trailoutdoorleisure.co.uk/meldon-5-man-family-tent-with-living-area.html

5 MAN TENT WITH KING POLE CANOPY: Perfect for family and group camping trips, the Meldon has space to sleep five people, plus a large living room to relax and store your gear. With taped seams and a 5000mm waterproof rating, it provides ultimate rain protection. Plus, it comes with king poles to easily prop up the entrance door and create a sun canopy.
‘DARK ZONE’ BEDROOM: The bedroom has been designed using ‘Dark Zone’ fabric, which blocks out up to 90% more sunlight than regular fabric to enjoy a longer, better sleep. Extra features include a removeable privacy divider to split the bedroom into two and a vent with a zip curtain to let light in when needed. Bedroom size: L210cm x W300cm x H180/205cm.
LARGE LIVING ROOM WITH STANDING HEIGHT: The living area measures L255cm x W320cm x H205cm to easily fit a table and chairs. Because it’s over 2-metres high, there’s also plenty of space to stand up inside it. Extra features include a cable access point to hook up electrical equipment, plus a ceiling hook to attach a lantern or hang your clothes to dry.
SEWN-IN GROUNDSHEET & CURTAIN WINDOWS: The living area has a sewn-in groundsheet to completely seal it off from damp and draughts, plus a zipped entrance door with a secondary mesh door to aid ventilation, while keeping insects out. Side windows with zipped exterior covers allow for extra visibility with the option of total privacy when required.
OVERSIZED CARRY BAG INCLUDED: The Meldon includes an oversized bag with handles to easily pack away and carry on camping trips. When stored inside the bag, it measures a compact L78cm x W30cm x D30cm. Colour-coded fibreglass poles and sleeves make it fast and easy to pitch, plus it has an Advanced Guy Line System for ultimate wind-resistance.
