3 Reviews of the Sly Fox

I agree that this tent is very quick and easy to pitch. I also agree that it is only a two man tent. Stands up in windy weather very well. It has been used regularly for several years since 2002 and is only now showing wear and tear. Major drawback is that you have to worm your way into the front corner on hands and knees to undo the zip to get out, then, if it is raining, you get soaked because there is absolutely no protection. Had to buy a separate awning to go over the front of the tent.

The tent is very quick to pitch and when done properly will withstand all weather conditions! Mine has remained standing in gale force winds (literally!) and days of torrential rain without a single hiccough. It is definitely only a two man tent though, as the bedroom sides do slope at quite and acute angle. The vestibule is very large and I manage to fit a fairly large stand up camp kitchen inside along with other collapsible shelving and seating. The only downside is constantly ducking under the door to get in and out. Looks wise, we get very appreciative stares when we pitch at every campsite we go to. And I've never seen another one!

Never believe the advert. It's quick to pitch. It's tall, but only in the ridge, so a lot of ducking and diving. Bed area is for a maximum of two due to the steeply inclined walls, or suits just one if like me you ate all the pies. Needs awning poles to make it work properly. It's expensive but the quality is worth it. But you'll never have a problem finding your pitch in a crowded site - just head for the sexiest tent around.

Manufacturer's Description

The Sly Fox Camp is popular due to its quick pitching and ample standing room, providing optimal ventilation.

The two pole, V-shaped construction allows the flysheet to be quickly and easily clipped on providing the tent, quite lightweight for its size, with good stability, and also ensures a quick pitch. The pyramid shaped inner tent offers room for 4 people. The spaciously cut vestibule (height 2m) can be closed and allows for bike storage as well as setting up a table and chairs. A ventilation hood and two large, screened windows (that also zip shut) ensure excellent air circulation. A tent footprint for the inner area comes with the tent (0.34kg).
