We had similar problems to Clairevin on first putting up our Aerotech. We arrived in the evening and rushed it without reading the instructions properly. The beams kinked, I could only just stand up in it at 6ft. It rained overnight and when I woke the tent roof was like a waterbutt holding literally gallons of water, but impressively no leak or tears. We set about moving the air beams (after pushing the gallons of water off the roof!) as they are on velcro pads so we lifted & pushed the bottom of the beams outwards. The tent then pitched perfectly, more rain came and ran off without any more problems. For the next 2 weeks, this was our fridge area, larder, wardrobe and general eating & living area if it was wet outside. It was up and watertight in 15 mins, fully pegged out, bedrooms up, tent carpet down & attached to the Van in under 40 mins& that was only our 2nd time! The size is huge with almost a foot above my head, 6m long x 3.5m wide plus the awning tunnel. I can even stand up in the bedrooms which are a generous 2m x 1.5m each separated by a hanging curtain. Persevere with the instructions if you have one, once you know how, it's dead easy.

We had high hopes for our new aerobeam but it won't support itself at the maximum of 7psi! The two central air beams just kink and the whole thing leans out so that the only way we can keep it up is by tying to our camper-van. This means we can't use it to 'drive away' which is what we bought it for! Only used it this once, rang the dealer, the technical 'help'line told us the technical guy wasn't in the office so would ring following day - still waiting. If anyone has had similar experience please advise! Thanks

Following on from the huge success of the Khyam Driveaway XC. The NEW Khyam Driveaway AeroTech 4XL is sure to prove a huge hit within the VW and Campervan touring community. The footprint of the AeroTech 4XL is 6.05m x 3.5m with a connection tunnel of 200cm x 90cm, giving a total max footprint of 6.05m x 4.40m. The Driveaway AeroTech 4XL uses the Khyam AeroTech™ Air Pole system, although slower then the original Khyam Rapidex® Quick Erect System still offers simplicity within the driveaway awning market. Huge panoramic windows are just one of the benefits of the Khyam AeroTech™ 4XL. A sewn-in groundsheet keeps the warmth in and the bugs out, whilst the AeroTech™ Rapid Release Valve System means the tent can be simply and easily deflated in seconds. These fully compatible Driveaway Awnings can be pitched in minutes, and benefit from excellent stability due to the 4 ‘super wide’ aerotubes. Each tube has a diameter of 12cm - the widest on the market! The flysheet is made from polyester 150D Ripstop fabric, which is rated to 5000HH, and benefits from all seams being dual stitched and taped for extra protection from the elements. Khyam Motordome™ Awnings also have built in Air Circulation technology to ensure optimum comfort, and to reduce condensation build up. All windows have privacy curtains, and the front door of this luxurious awning can be rolled up or used as a canopy with the included canopy poles. The uniquely designed connection tunnel has a standard awning rail beading sewn on the end, and with the use of the optional Driveaway Strips, Kador Convertor or Pole and Clamp kit, it can be attached to any awning rail (including the Reimo Multirail), wind-out awning (including Fiamma or Omnistor), ‘C’ channel or similar fixing. Unlike other driveaway awnings the patented design of the versatile Khyam Motordome™ Range tunnel means draughts are significantly reduced between the tunnel and the vehicle.
