A surprising tent from the Chinese manufacturer NIGHT CAT, quite new to the UK market but better known in the USA
Surprising, because of the quality/cost equation, and it's good surprising. This is the budget version, as the tent is also offered in a nylon, slightly lighter and more expensive version.
This is a ripstop type material, alloy poled, geodesic tent, and as such it can be free standing.
It has two opposing entrances and an all 'nozeeum' mesh internal tent, with a substantial groundsheet.
The exoskeleton frame is clipped to the tent, making set up easier than threading the poles through sleeves. There are even small pockets for the corner guylines if not in use. Everything is double stiched and seam sealed throughout. It has not leaked anywhere. Pegs are the cross type and the four corner peg out points can be tensioned idependently. I have added shock cord to the peg out points.
Set up and take down are very fast and some figures are:
HH 3000 mm (5000mm on the lightweight model)
Weight : 2.5 kg
Nominal 2 berth, but roomy single berth
Two porches/entrances
This is a very good general purpose 2/3 season tent, especially for the money.
It is cheaper to buy direct than through Amazon at time of writing
