I bought this tent after rigorous searching, and went for our first holiday to sunny Scotland this August. The tent was fantastic. Spacious easy to put up and withstood rain, wind and sun.For a family of five you couldn't ask for a better tent. When all around us were holding their tent, down the Zanzibar stood fast.Only downside is the fact that short people like me need a step to put up the bedrooms lol!

Wow. What a fantastic tent, where do I begin. The internal living space is amazing especially if it rains or you need to socialise without sitting on each other's knees. We were able to have a stove, 2 tables, 4 chairs, a camp bed and a kitchen cupboard in the living area and still had plenty of room left to party if we wanted to.
The mesh doors enabled us to have fresh air without the intrusion of bugs and the 6 windows with a zip curtain option let in plenty of light. Ceiling hooks allowed us to hang a total of 5 UFO's to provide plenty of lighting for the living quarters during the evening.
The poly cotton canvas helped retain heat without becoming too stuffy, coupled with the air vents, we had no condensation issues. Noise is also reduced compared to polyester tents when the wind blows. Very stable even during the strongest of winds, due to the steel poles. EHU inlets are provided on both sides.
The three bedroom pods are easily erected, although as mentioned, you need a bit of height to fit the highest of points!
The weight of the tent and poles is heavy and not to be underestimated. You have to expect this from a tent of this quality and size, but should be considered as the total weights exceed 80kg. The carrying bags could also have been of a better construction. Small niggles though for a fantastic tent.
Front canopy provides luxurious space for outdoor camping, even if the weather is a little, er, 'British' ! Have had many compliments from fellow campers. Hope we don't have to change for a long time – first class tent.

We chose this tent because we wanted a poly cotton tent we also wanted a large socializing area as there are quite a few of us that meet up when we are camping and unfortunately in this country we cant guarantee the weather, so we all pile in to our tent.
Its not that bad to put up so long as there is no wind, but don't take advice from the vango site on how to put it up cos that doesn't work, You need to peg the back down then insert the first pole and work your way forward, with no wind the two of us can put it up in about 40 mins.
We think this tent is absolutely great for what we require, its also a lot warmer than your regular nylon tents. I would recommend this tent to anyone.

This is lovely spacious tent, light and airy poly cotton. Its not to difficult to erect but it is a heavy tent. Its also a good idea to be on the taller side as I'm only 5' 2'' and couldn't reach the toggles to put up the middle bedroom! Large windows with zipped curtains, 3 doors, 2 smaller doors have storm porches and the larger door has the option of the zip on sun canopy. Great tent! the only downside is that it is a very heavy and large tent to store. If you have the space to store it I would recommend this tent!

The larger Zanzibar 800 model SRP £850.00 shares all the features of the 600 model but is a little bigger to house a group of eight. Featuring a storm skirt system, a sewn in ground sheet and flexible inners so that the living space can be extended Zanzibar tents are a firm family favourite.
All family classic tents feature Protex CM 1500 DWR treated cotton and polyester fabric with all the benefits of cotton, but lighter in weight and better protected thanks to the PU coating.
