The Bram Stoker International Film Festival celebrates the life of Bram Stoker through four days and nights of gothic decadence cumulating with the highly anticipated and world famous Bram Stoker European Vampires Ball now in its third year.
2012 sees the 100 years celebration of Bram Stokers death in true gothic style in Whitby. The Vampires Walk will allow Goths, Steampunks and Dracula fans to retrace Minas steps through Whitby dressed in their finest attire.
Flame & Thunder is an action packed day for all the family featuring motorsport stunts and Drag Racing. Witness a huge gathering of jet vehicles including a Jet Dragster, Jet Funny Cars, Jet Truck and Jet Beetle. Experience 300mph Nitro guzzling Top Fuel machines along with cars and bikes from all classes of Drag Racing. Watch stunt displays including Monster Trucks, Freestyle Motocross, Drifting and Stunt Riders. The climax of the day will be a huge firework display with massive bonfire.

Lincoln Christmas Market, held in Lincoln, is one of the largest Christmas markets in Europe, attracting up to 250,000 visitors over the four day event.
Held around three weeks before Christmas, the market spreads around the historic centre of Lincoln including the castle and cathedral. As well as stalls selling goods there is a funfair with Ferris wheel, open air classical music and rock concerts and traditional events such as beer barrel rolling.
The festival offers a Victorian Christmas market with over 120 stalls selling a wide selection of colourful crafts, festive gifts and speciality seasonal foods. A unique atmosphere is created by the Victorian themed costumes, seasonal decorations, traditional fun fair rides and a huge variety of street entertainment right across the town.

Every Epiphany (or the day before if a Sunday), the parish of Haxey, North Lincolnshire, engages in a curious custom called Haxey Hood, a rugby-like game. Attracting huge crowds, the objective is to push a leather tube to one of four pubs nearby.
Reputably the oldest local tradition in England, legend has it that Haxey Hood was conceived after Lady de Mowbray had her silk riding hood blown away while riding, during the 14th century and thirteen farm workers rushed to help.
