Easily found a few miles off the A15 and down quiet country lanes. It is in the corner of a bend and at first we did not spot the sign, so we drove past, but no worries there and we turned around in the pub opposite, which happened to be the Cider Farm (currently closed for refurb), however we stopped and bought a few bottles of cider.
We then turned back, went over the bridge and turned right into the site. We followed the driveway in and stopped at reception and we met by the friendly owners, who checked us in quickly, took our money and showed us the site and facilities. We ordered a fire pit and a bag of logs for £3 and off we went. They delivered the fire pit and logs while we set up, perfect service.
The site was empty, but us and we were offered any pitch we like, we chose the far field and went on pitches 7 and 8. £15 per night for the pitch for all of us, dog, awning, ehu, showers and toilets etc. Great value. The pitches were dead flat and had some duck poo on them, but hey ho, you are camped next to the canal.
This is a farm site and has dogs roaming ( one did not take a fancy to my dog, but they went away when told ) chickens, roosters, cockerals and more. As the site was empty our dog was allowed to run free which was great for her.
There are two toilet blocks, the one nearest the site entrance is not that nice, but does the job, although there was no running water in the gents. The main block in the camping field was fine, clean and very usable. There are key operated showers (£5 deposit) and each shower room has a sink, mirror and toilet. There is also a baby change are in this block too.
The nearby village of Kirton in Lindsey was lovely and had a great variety of shops from a Co Op, to a chemist, butchers, souvenir shop, and so many more. Banks there too to get your cash. This is about 4 miles from the site.
Walks aplenty from the site along the canal path, so plenty of distance to go if this is your thing. The pub across the road serves lunch and dinner and we ate there on one night and provided good food at reasonable prices. Plenty of lovely ciders on draft too.
The site pitches are flat and well kept, the toilets were a mess. They state noisy to 01:00 am, ok but at 02:30 it was still a noisy site with loads of music, people screaming and shouting, bottles and cans thrown at tents. At 04:30 I was sat up watching my car and tents. The watchman came over to the loudest group had words which he lost so he walked away. You can stay on site till dusk on departure day. loose roaming dogs which belong to owners, these poo and pee all over. What could be a good site is spoilt by minorities. Pleasant river walks and a local pub, cider centre. Good site mid week but beware the weekend.

Well my gripe is now mended no more flooding in the disabled shower room, Godfrey got onto it straight away.

What a fantastic site, Joan and Godfrey are very kind people.
Our only gripe would be that the shower in the disabled toilet was not draining very well.
Our son and his new wife wanted their wedding blessed on the 1st. August 2009 and Joan and Godfrey let this happen, they provided the marque, tables and some chairs for us to use. In the evening we also had a disco. What a fantastic time we had. After the registry office the wedding blessing was just how Zoe and Andrew wanted it, even the rain didn't spoil it for them.
After the happy couple left the site the kindness of Joan and Godfrey continued even when my husband was taken ill, the care and concern never failed they are kindness itself.
Thank you Godfrey and Joan for a wonderful time that was had by all and we look forward to our next holiday with you all in September 09.

A very laid back site. If the reception area had not had such a strong smell of dog about it, it would have been excellent. The facilities were very good, however there didn't appear to be much attempt to keep the floors clean (ok I know it was wet but with a light coloured floor & black soil it's very noticeable.)
You have to make your own enjoyment & other campers were - with music allowed until 1am!
Not a site probably for those who want total peace, although we found it ok, nice long walk along the canal towpath, we didn't try the cider house as it looked a bit seedy from the outside.
The many dogs & cats appeared friendly even to campers animals. Cock-crow at this site means it literally - be warned if you are a townie!
