"This blackout fabric has 2 sides to it. A fabric side and a smoother vinyl feeling side. The whiter side of mine is the fabric feeling side and I wanted it to face outward and the more beige side (smoother vinyl feeling side) to lay right against my fabric. I think the unspoken rule to is to have your white curtain lining face the window so that passersby outside only see white. (By the way, you can iron this blackout lining on a low setting……but be sure to iron on the fabric side.)"
We have black out curtains at home and just checked to see which way they are manufactured. It's the soft coating side that faces the window and the woven fabric facing you.
Thank you. Have now got woven facing me. Don't think it will matter much. I have just stuck up a piece large enough to cover two panels of my bay window as the sun comes straight into my eyes in the morning. Sticky velcro on window and sewn on velcro on fabric. Job done and should be better in morning now.
We just had roller blinds of blackout material fitted behind the curtains, in a plain colour that goes with them. I also put some blackout on our MH back door curtain as the light would wake me too early - it keeps the inside a bit warmer too as less cold gets through.
Welcome to a new poster all the way from the States.
I’m assuming by “trailer”, you mean a big caravan because a trailer here is a towed storage box that’s not habitable.
I put tinfoil over the window over my door when I was at college, because the corridor light kept me awake. It’s very effective: it moulds into position over the frame, so it doesn’t need taping & doesn’t damage anything. And it’s totally light proof. Sounds fine to me. Don’t use cheap thin tinfoil though as it’s more likely to tear.
You could add a ready made or made-to-measure blackout roller blind to the escape window.
Going by the posters signature they have one of these referred to as a travel trailer(AKA caravan).
