We are pretty new to camping and almost had a disaster last year in really stong winds at Clachtoll Beach Campsite (Our friends tent blew down and they havent spoken to us since! North West Scotland was our idea)
The ground is really sandy and I think its pretty windy up there most of the time.
Our pegs which came with the tent arent much good - can anyone help please?

For sandy ground, the long (8 or 9 inch) V angle pegs work well. It's a good idea to scrape back a bit of the loose surface, before smacking the pegs in as far as they'll go and at the correct angle (tops tilted 30 to 45 degrees away from tent).

I will, they are really lovely.
Is there more than one type of delta peg? I'm a bit confused! Which ones do we need?

I'm confused - is there any difference between "hard ground" pegs and "rock" pegs? I've just bought 20 of the former but now I'm wondering if I should have bought the latter!

I'd like to know the difference between a 'hard ground peg' and a 'rock peg' too. Somebody said they used both depending on where they were.------------- AWARDED BEST ACCESSORY BY 'CAMPING' MAGAZINE MARCH 2011
