As no doubt some of you'll have seen you can win these as prizes on this forum but I bought a mixed selection Box (no. 1) on their website to try out last weekend. Main reason is that I knew the hours we'd be volunteering meant we'd not get back to the chippy or chinese local and we'd be too shattered to go to the pub, but we'd really need a good meal. So we tried out the Coq au Vin and the Comfit of Duck - we had to boil these (why do they have miniscule microwaves in a mobile sleeping six - but it only took 20 minutes - same as the veg and they were tasty and filling. Worked out, with veg, at £3.00 per head - beans on toast on sale at the on site restaurant at £4.00!!
These meals are now very definitely on our list for our rally events next year; I can put the meal on and it'll be ready by the time the tent's pitched, the gear inside and the red wine poured!
I'd been a bit leery until they brought out the selection boxes because buying 10 of the same meal, despite the long shelf life, seemed a bit much for one person, but now my friend, as a singleton, likes them, we're going to buy and share a box. To date, have only tried the above, lamb shanks and aubergine roulade - has anyone else used others?
I have seen excellent reviews of these in one of my camping magazines, but was put off by the 10 of a kind only thing as there's only the two of us. But I'm off to the website now I know they do 'variety packs'. dd blummin loves lamb shank, lamb shank while camping will make her year!

Yeah! It was the advent of the variety pack that pursuaded me! Now I've tried them, I'm also going to have some at home for when the ferries carrying food to the island break down or are deterred by weather!!

ecky thump beans on toast £4 how much is a proper meal
I gather chicken supreme with rice about £7 but didn't explore the place. Steaks were £16 plus; local chippy (v.g. but car drive away) was £5.30 fish and chips.
When we can all eat as a group and there's a chinese or indian handy then we all do mix and match and share extras when camping but when you can be out from silly o'clock to silly o'clock you have to be self-sufficient. And if you've had a 6am start and 10.30pm finish in sub-zero temperatures, you know how food and drink is essential for survival! This trip meant departing 3am both mornings back 9pm - so you'll realize we were somewhat reluctant to shift far from the mobilie!

Cheers Ratty
Ratty, thanks, should have posted link.
Very grateful to this forum for having drawn my attention to this company.
What a great idea, and nice to see someone recommend them. I can see they would be useful in all sorts of situations, but especially when camping or caravanning. Im assuming that although the website shows the meals served with various veg that you have to provide your own? Even so, good value as you say. Were the portion sizes reasonable?
Wish Id seen these earlier, could have ordered some before our trip on Sunday. Ill probably get some to try when we get back!
What about giving us caravanners a chance to win some?
Just click on any of the products and the prices for each ones are listed there with the option to order as many packs of that selection or flavour as you wish

Anniemacxx, We thought the portions were just fine but they might not do a ravenous growing teenager! Yes, you provide your own veg; I found that the veg took same time as boiling the meal portions and if you have rice with (say) the chilli con carne, you can boil that in the same pot! Some of the dishes (eg lamb shanks) you can decant to a casserole and cook in the oven.
