My mate has just purchased a elddis crusader
Cyclone 2014. The tv signal is very poor.
It�s got a svensen amplifier with a whip aerial .
He wants to know if he can change the aerial
To a vision plus status aerial and amplifier.
Any info would be helpful.
See no problem as I have read many posts on forums as being practically useless and of people changing them to Vision plus. We have this aerial and works fine all over the UK
Can't comment on the fitting aspect as mine was standard OEM fitment on van, but the Vision Plus directional aerial has performed well all over the country, even in pretty marginal reception areas.
Plenty of anecdotal comments that the Omnidirectional aerials are less satisfactory than the Directional ones! People failing to get a signal (at all!) whilst neighbours with directional aerials succeeding!
Only comment on fitment, if fitting in a wardrobe/locker (typical location), ensure not too close to a wall/corner, as you need to rotate the mast to align with transmitter (hand grip needed on lower end of mast), and to loosen/tighten the screw up mast locking collar, and also rotate the crank handle on bottom of mast to alter vertical-horizontal alignment.
