Hello this is my first post, I've got a swift fairway 520 in great condition My only gripe is the blown air system from the trumatic fireplace/heater doesn't kick on. I'm getting heat from the unit itself but no blown air. I've tried in manual and automatic mode. I've also taken the switch out on top and cleaned the contacts as I have read this is also a common fault. Any other advice anyone could give me? I've already checked and we do not have a separate blade fuse for the blown air, the trip switch on the RCD says fridge/blown air so I'm assuming there is not a separate fuse hidden away. Anybody reckon it could be the motor or could anyone point me in the right direction of anything else to check before I get an engineer on the case.

Not sure what unit you have. We have a Truma combi boiler doing blow heating and hot water. It can blow air only but only if the water heating is not in use. The option of fan only is only available if water heating is switched off.

Hi and welco,e to the fotum. The fire is a pretty common fitment in loads of caravans but it operates with three different power sourses.
Heating is dine primarily by gas with a mains electric heater as a second sourse of heat, plus they can be used at the same time to get the van warm quickly.

The blower runs on 12 volts DC, to blow the heat atound the ducting to where it's needed. The fan is controlled by the little speed selectror on the top LH side and has both manual and automatic mode plus fan off/on. With no fan running you need to isolate whether its the control board or fan itself that is at fault (unlikely to be both). the fan lives behind the fire and is usually a bit if a pain to get at but it can be removed by loosening the three screws that hold it in and then turn it slightly.

It may be seized, but by connecting 12 volts to it see if it turns. If it does then check the wiring back to the controller. If that is ok then it/s looking like the controller unit. Nothing is cheap and motors are now hard to come by. Good luck.
