I finally took the plunge and opted for the Outwell Sun Valley 8. I Purchased it from Allweathers in the end for £389 inc. free footprint groundsheet. Seems a good deal (I hope!)
On pegs, I'm not sure whether the pegs that come with the tent are adequate, or whether it's better to upgrade some of them to something more substantial. Can you give me the benefit of your experience ? If it gets breezy, what tends to come loose first, guys or groundsheet pegs ?
Wish I had a bigger garden to put it up in now :-(
Thanks.

Don't forget to leave a review of all tents you've used, for a chance to win fantastic prizes
Like hlk01, we use deltas on our guy lines. If you opt for one on each then you'll need 19 for the main guys and 2 for the door poles. The nylon ones are adequate enough unless you intend pitching in really hard stony ground.

Thanks all for the quick replies.
I saw the delta pegs review, I'll give them a try, thanks for the advice. I may go with a handful to start with just to see how we go.
hlk01, on your second SV8, er, what happened to the first ?
Ta, TP
PS. New tent, more kids, need a bigger car now !
Paul - we still have both of them. Story is , we bought first one off ebay last year as hubby was reluctant to buy a new one .. given we got a new Hartford the previous year. I have another thread running about this here . Er, we have too many tents ! The first was had been well used and we knew that when we bought it. It sold us on the SV8 so when we saw a brand new one advertised, second hand but never out of the bag we jumped at it.
So not sure what to do with the first one.. it isn't new .. showing signs of wear.. would probably get a full season out of it ..but we no longer need it . Debating whether to advertise and see if we get an offers, or break it down into spares in case anything happens to our new one over the years.. poles, inners, zips etc..
I'm sure you will love your SV8. I know there have been a few quality control issues with Outwell lately but overall they are brilliant tents.
