Thanks for the suggestion. Had a look at reviews but they appeared very mixed, especially concerning the exposed sloped situation. How did you find this?

Yeah it was a bit sloped but tbh it did't bother us! You slid down the bed a bit during the night lol but that was it. Never had a problem with the owners as they seemed really nice. The toilets are very important to me and the site is spotless and well tended. There is a small shop and pub (not sure if these will be open out of high season) The beach is also lovely. Also the weather has been good to us when we go so never experienced any exposure.I suppose you would just have to take a chance lol. Were always cautious when looking for a new site as not everybody is looking for the same thing and the reveiws can be confusing!! Really is a lovely site though! Good luck with your search!
------------- Always Kate unless Jay is looking over my shoulder :) x
I wonder if anybody can help me, neither my partner or I drive. I am looking for campsites that are accessible by the local bus services. We are willing to travel obviously not too far as we would only be going for the weekend. If anybody could recommend anywhere that would be great
Were you camped with another couple ie two tents close together? if so you spoke to me as i walked my dog around the two small ponds at bottom end, my dog looks like a mini sheep and MH was parked at top pitch on left with yellow Suzuki ignis attached
parrots too vauluble to risk losing on site so they stay at home
Beaconsfield do take dogs
shame your in a tent cos Croft Park Beverley is another good one

ps must remember to apply for a UKCS sticker

We saw your lovely motorhome and thought what a great idea having the little car attached was. You were honoured as the couple you met (not us) were camped next to us and didn't crack a smile in our direction all weekend. Maybe a change of deodorant is needed!
small world innit.. bottom pic in gallery is that weekend, middle pic is Kneps farm last week, at home this week nephews wedding (oh what joy)looking at Southport then Burton Constable that takes us into October & Oxen hall for a week
well got to go back to work, second half (split shifts) have a goon un
Welcome to the site, I dont know where you are in west yorkshire but there is a site at Hollingworth lake in Littleborough which is just over the boader in Lancashire that you could get to on public transport, theres a train station in Littleborough and a taxi up the hill to the campsite would be about 3.50, there's a bus up the hill but then you would have to walk round the lake, see the reviews below.
