Knights Stainforth is a nice site near settle. £42 is not cheap but seems fairly normally for a family. Enjoy your camping.

Hi these days a lot of sites charge per person per night instead of just per pitch so it can bump the price up a bit if youve got a big family.

Sorry not been anywhere in the North West yet and I can only reccomend Shell Island and the Gower in Wales but theres not lots to do besides the beaches and walks.  They are lovelly places though I think Shell Island did have a childrens play park and a cafe and the beach stretches for 5 miles.

I would reccomend Robin Hoods Bay near Whitby even though not your selected area.  Plenty to do there.
