Hi,
We are hoping to find a campsite near Heathrow flightpath so that our son can watch the planes. Does anyone know of such a site?
Many thanks.
Kevin.

Some of the reviews on this site complain about noise from being on a flight path.------------- Click on My Homepage for Blog

This one isn't too far, and has a small light airfield near it as well.Post last edited on 13/08/2007 16:31:50

We've just stayed at the C&CC site at Chertsey. Its a very nice site but OH did have a problem with the aircraft noise. On some days the aircarft were VERY low and directly overhead but most time although overhead they were a little higher (still low enough to make out the aircarft and airline though!)

Your best best is not to camp too close to the flight paths but within striking distance of the airport. Loads of plane spotters seem to hang around on the eastern side of the airport near hatton cross tube station. Its located on the southern perimeter road and there are a couple of car parks there. (not sure if public parking but i think at least one must be because of the number of people who hang out around there)
Hatton cross tube station is right at the end of one of the main runways.
