Can anyone reccomend to me some campsites by the sea.We enjoy watersports fishing, boating and need sites that are quiet and a very short distance from the water for carrying the kit. We havve gone to sites in the past that say close to sea but when you get there you find a long trek to the beach.It would be nice to step from your unit onto the beach and forget the car. around the Welsh coast or Devon/Somerset area would be good

Caerddaniel at Barmouth is right on the beach and Hendre Mynach is just across the promenade. Don't know much about Hendre Mynach but Caerddaniel was quiet when we went.
There's site on the beach in Port Eynon on the Gower in South Wales. It's a large site though, so you could still have quite a trek across the site at high season.I think it is Carreglwyd Camping & Caravan Park, but not 100% sure. There is also Newpark in Port Eynon which IIRC is just across the sand dunes. I may have got the two mixed up with each other, I've not been there for many years. The one on the beach used to be a bit grotty, but last time I was there, they were building new toilets and cleaning it up nicely. The other one was quite a bit more modern, but again that was a few years ago. Neither site has particularly good reviews though, which is unfortunate, they were both very adequate when I was there. Port Eynon, like most of the Gower has very little to do other than the beach though and the nearest supermarket is a 30+ minute drive to Swansea.
