We go to Pillaton near penkridge, it's got 4 pools, all well stocked, decent carp etc, the site is great too. Search for them on the camp site search on here and link to their website for photos etc.

If you choose the right pitch you can practically fish from your van.

It's a bit flashy for my liking & would only choose to go out of school holiday time but my husband is a VERY keen fisherman & rates this place.

We often go for a walk around here and it is very popular with people parking next to the lake for the day.

We went to this site at the weekend plenty fishing and it is free if you have a rod licence.There were plenty fishing all day and it was pouring it down.

Also second Thorney Lakes for the fishing, but we haven't camped there.  We camp at Bowdens Crest which is about 10 mins drive away and Peter drives over to Thorney for a days fishing.
