Hi, has anyone stayed at the White House Campsite nr Builth Wells, Powys?  It looks good but wondered if anyone has stayed there would you know if there is a good dog exercise area, where I could let my 2 very energetic boxers off the lead.  They need to be able to have a good run about and not all sites have much of a dog run.  If you know of any other sites in South Wales or Mid Wales that has a great dog exercise area close, (walking distance from site) please let me know.

Thanks, jb

Sorry have not stayed there.. but a great site in the area (about 4 miles from Builth) is  this one . I think it's a fabulous place and, I think, dog friendly (although we haven't got one!) lots of people with dogs there and loads of walks around the site.  Sarah x

thanks sarah for your reply.  We have actually booked into White House and are off today.  Hope it is good, but as we are only booking a couple of nights at a time, will take Fforest Fields details with us so if the White House isnt up to scratch will have the option to move on.  Will leave some details on my return.  Thanks again. Jill

Have passed this campsite many times but have never stayed there, it is pretty much near the centre of Builth and from what i seen of it it looks quite nice , not very big and on the banks of the River Wye. It is accessible to the Town Centre of Builth which is pretty much walking distance.

As Sarah Says the FF site is  alittle further on but a great place for dogs, plenty of water, walks and special dog scamper fields for them to free play

Thanks for your replies.  Well we have just got back from White House Campsite.  We had a really nice time, very peaceful small site within walking distance of Builth Wells town and also the Royal Welsh Showground for those who may visit the Royal Welsh Show.  People lovely who run the site, toilets and showers really clean and beautiful hot showers.  We were able to let our 2 boisterous boxers run free in designated field which was massive.  All in all we had a really lovely few days, only thing they couldnt help us with was the weather!  It did rain rather a lot.   We went for a nose at Fforest Fields while we were nearby and that does seem a really beautful site, so that is definitely our next campsite to try out.  Thanks again for your posts.  Jill

We are off to White house this week, after originally booking Forest Fields but found the owner to be a tad rude!!!!  The owner of White House could not have been more accomodating and helpful.

Thumbs up for White House Thumbs down for Forest Fields :-(
