Just new to camping this year but all set up now and got the bug! Is it ridiculous to think of camping at October half term? We have a 5 year old and a 2 year old. Went in july and it was glorious and again in the middle of august and quelle surprise it poured down but neither time was cold. Dont want to go in october and get a big shock but dont like the idea of waiting til next year before we can go again.
Views and ideas please. And site recommendations for that time of year if there are any.
Thanks - Helen

I'm looking at somewhere like Flamingoland, where there is lots for the children to do. Also entertainment at night, will help shorten long evenings. Go to the kids show for an hour or so, and then back to the camper for hot chocolate, a story and bed.
We are camping October half term but have picked a site with lots of facilities and entertainment with it being dark early. We are going to Great Yarmouth to Vauxhall holiday park which has two five day holidays or you can book all ten days.Great value for money see here
We are off here to hopefully watch the motorcross on Barmouth beach.Having electric hook up but only do this EHU like easter and the last half term of the year.
So glad you posted this thread! I am keen to go in the October half term too! We bought an Outwell Norfolk lake last month, love it but we're finding it hard to dry it at home!
Ooh heater on all night? Will it not get really hot in the tent? I bow to your superior knowledge LOL!
Thanks for replies so far - have nearly talked oh into it! Sorry for not mentioning what type of site we're after. Visited Sykeside at Brotherswater in august and that was great - everything we wanted except for the mud. We had a nice pub on site that was family friendly although we are not after children's entertainment. Just something family friendly and clean facilities preferably with a nice pub and quiet of a night. North wales or lakes pref.
Thinking of going to Ripley, nr harrogate or Ord House, Berwick. Still to decide or open to other suggestions - think booing will be a couple of days before going thing.Just packing warmer clothes and duvet as well as sleeping bags and going EHU for heating.
