We would like to camp in Yorkshire next year and are looking for advice, we have a diablo 900, 3 kids and a budget of approx £20 per night could anyone suggest a campsite that is within 5 miles of the coast and has at least showers and toilets. I have tried to search the sites on here but have decided that personal reccomendation might be a better way to point us in the right direction.

http://www.ukcampsite.co.uk/sites/reviews.asp?revid=3599 at Robin Hood's Bay - very near to sea & a good campsite with a playground & showers that were fine as far as I can remember.

Mere Farm - slightly more than the 5 miles (think it's about 7 to Filey, 9 to Bridlington and 15 minutes driveto Scarborough)

Has a few EHU pitches but is basically a lot of fields so size of tent doesn't matter.

We went in August (2 adults, 2 children and EHU) and it was £17.50 a night. Basic facillities but excellent site.

There was one very near Robin Hoods Bay that we had in mind but they were fully booked - think it was Gemma-lu went to it for her honeymoon and has a great picture on her profile. Will post name if I remember as it was only 5 mins walk from RHB

Just clicked on link in previous post and it's the same site - Hooks Head Farm

Wolds way is around 7 miles to the coast. They have fantastic facilities, they even have a fridge freezer and microwaves. The owners are very welcoming and the views are to die for.The kids will love the farm and the playing field (loads of kids) if you go before june they have lambs and they can feed them.

Have a look at the reviews.

Not sure of what sites would be best for you as we stayed a CC sites.....but I would look around the Scarborough/Filey/Whitby and even a short stay near York....... the area is great......  My daughter and SIL did stay at the Cayton Village site and said it was nice.
