for August, not too far from Snowdonia, with some good cycling and preferably walking distance to pub/shop. Just need showers and preferably not full of kids (I know it's the summer holidays!). Caravan Club sites might be a good idea.
Thanks

Have a look at Cae Du which is near Beddgelert.
I go without my kids here, with just my OH when we want a weekend away walking/cycling, its walking distance along a lovely path to the village where there are a number of pubs.
Its not a child free site but there's never very many there when we go.
To be honest Coed y Llwyn is quite good. I did not give it a good review, but I am told the toilets have been renovated since. and my view of the place was tainted because I don't like Gogs!!!

Not to be confused with the other Cae Du, which is near Towyn, and is also very nice. On the edge of the sea, watch dolphins play. The pub is a bit more than a walk away, I'm afraid.
Colloquially, a person from North Wales (especially one who speaks with this dialect or accent) is known as a North Walian, or a Gog (from the Welsh gogledd, meaning "north").
There is a nice site called bron derw it is on uk campsite with there web address it is a cl site also it has another site next door it is close to all the things you are asking for have stayed there and will be going back in july.

Cae Du near Beddgelert is probably more of a tent 'y' campsite but does cater for caravans, we've certainly seen a fair few there.
Their website says they take them anyway.
Quite fancy trying it myself but have heard mixed reviews.
To the OP other small sites I've been to although I do have a tent and not a van, is Eisteddfa in Criccieth which is near a fair few beaches and castles although never taken my bikes there. Also Tynllwynwhich is near Tywyn and there are some nice off road bike paths, part of the NCN routes nearby (I think, don't quote me on that ;))
we have stayed at Riverside which is behind a garden centre on the road from caernafon to Llanberis(the bottom of snowdon.) it was lovely and had a stream running round the edge of the campsite.

What is a gog?

Now I know, it's all Wales to me!!
Thanks for the replies, we have actually booked Lady Margaret's Park (which sounds rather grand!!), as we intend to do the Telford aqueducts, Snodonia, Portmerrion amongst other things. I am really looking forward to it. Is it too much to hope for good weather??
Amazing family weekend with old steam engines, classic car displays, market stalls, and full catering and bar. And camping on site - Save £25 by booking in advance.
