Had some bad times camping in the past due to noise etc. Want to take my 2 kids to quiet sites that DO enforce quiet in the North West and Wales. Any ideas ??

I completely agree with you on the noise thing, and also keep my eye out for quiet sites!
I have had this site stored in my virtual brochure as it looks very strict on quietness:
Cae du campsite

We also had a very peaceful time at Bainbridge Ings in Hawes, Yorkshire Dales mainly owing to the clientelle being traditional campers!

This site was very strict on noise.

No cars are allowed on the camping field either and people in the car park area who had radio on were told to turn it off.

No hot water, except for a 50p shower is probably the main drawback

Hafod Y llan looks lovely, but there doesn't appear to be much space between the tents? Plus, do you have to carry all your kit to the field?

We recently stayed at "The Quiet Site" near Ullswater in the Lakes - does exactly what it says on the tin.

Looks perfect for kids too, although I dont speak from personal experience on that one.

I have posted a review, but it may not appear for a while. There are plenty in the reviews section though if you want to check them out.

i second the Cae du.. Its the only site we have used that has had no noise at night. they dont allow music plus doesnt seem to get any groups staying.. My kids love it there also..

The car park is just where I am stood. There is a gate but not wide enough for cars.

They ask for 6 metres between groups but within groups you can be really close if you want.

My sisters tent is the one with the orange door next to the windbreak so you have space for yourselves.

There are no marked pitches but the rules are up on the wall or the warden tells you.

I slept in my converted camper in the carpark.
