I've heard this is a great site - funny I was watching an old holiday swap/nightmares programme on some random sky channel last week and one part of the programme was the two families camping at this site - seems to have a lot of facilities & coastal walks - shame about the families involved though... the camping family scattered beer cans & litter around the pitch whilst the other family felt that they were very much above camping - "people actually pay to do this"
I drive past Hendra every year, on the way to Crantock. It looks like a great site, and so close to Newquay and all the wonderful coast around there, you can't lose!
We'll be down there last week of June/first week of July! Hope we get good waves and weather!
Was there 2 years ago during the storms.
The site is very well organised & the staff worked tirelessly despite the dreadful conditions.
Since our visit they have spent a small fortune apparently on extra drainage.
Loads & loads for the kids to do (start saving your 2p coins for the arcade amazing how much fun can be had for £1)
Very well stocked shop at sensible prices but eating out there costs. There is a fantastic pub 15 minutes walk away which does great food & proper local ale.
Hope this helps.
Don't forget to leave a review of the campsites you have visited this year or last!
We went last year for our very first camping trip. We were booked in for 3 days, but loved it so much we stayed for another 2 nights.
The only problem we did have, as mentioned in my previous post. We found that we we surrounded by to many big camper vans, and couldn't see any other tents.
We have 3 children, and the entertainment in the evening was great for them, plus lots of nice walks for us during the day.
Hope you enjoy it loads, we are thinking of going to Trevornick Holiday Park this May.
Trevornick was our destination last summer.
Again a very well organised site, big pitches (infact using their website you can choose you pitch & see the size) again expect to be surrounded by tin boxes. Pool is lovely, much warmer than Hendra, but it shuts at 5-00pm.
Trevornick is on a headland you will notice the angle the trees grow at , it can be very exposed & yes again we were there in a storm. Fun fair is great for kids & does not disturb.
Liked both sites despite dreadful weather both have plenty to do for families.
Been to Hendra loads of times, brilliant site, the kids love the train rides with Henry the Hippo in the mornings. Over the years they have become very adept a parting campers with their hard eaned cash though, entertainment is superb but bar prices are a bit on the steep side.
We have booked at Hendra for 2 weeks in Aug, its our first time so hoping it lives up to our friends recommendation! Fingers crossed for good weather lol
Great site if you have a family with small children. Not a good site for couples etc as everything is geared up for a family break there. Indoor pool there is ok but its a public baths with slides etc but you get a discount on entrance if your camping at the site.

we are going hendra for the first time in may hope its going to be as good as it looks because it isnt cheap to go camping there
Really? We paid £17 a night last easter for the 3 of us with ehu, We're paying more than that this year for a site with much fewer facilities.Take a look at your confirmation, you may be paying for stuff you don't want/need. The £10 cancellation fee will be waived for a start if you e mail them about it.
Becareful, swimming pool gets very busy as it's not only open to residents it's also open to the public. There is a charge to use the pool even if your staying on site, which puts us off going as its an hourly charge and you are unable to swim in both it's either the indoor pool or outdoor anly way to swim in both is to pay double!! When we go swimming we like to stay in for ages, popping backwards and forwards most of the time which you are unable to do here.
